That was Steve Angello & Laidback Luke - Be (Masi & Mello Remix)
Going to be a bit brief, but fun night overall. Thought he was awesome early on, but lost me big time during the second half.
Loved hearing Binary Finary!! :eyes:

| I know I had a blast but I seemed to spend the entire night in conversation, in line to get a drink, or an hour and a half at a time to pee. Sorry; but that line was REDIC! Next PVD I'm not drinking. Or talking lol ;) |

Anthem notwithstanding. I sing along to it, but it's utter e. And white lies, really? He camouflaged (sp?) that into a decent remix. But i suppose it wouldn't be paul without a fair amount of cheese.
Helen/Lenchik, so good to meet you!
edit: oh, and jon and albert, if i had the money, i'd pay you two to just be at my side all the time. we could have cocktails and pancakes and go shopping and then dancing 3 nights a week. or 4? |
did i hear pancakes?! im in! |

| made a very last minute decision to go and truthfully i was exhausted from the moment i got there but pvd parties bring out all the TAs i hardly get to see so i went :). not a great set overall but it was fun, did a lot of talking and he did play some great tracks. overall glad i went and thank god for red bull! |

| That was absolutely ridonkulous. PvD threw the hammer down and man-handled Roseland. all the nay-sayers. The man can out perform anyone when he wants. The ebergy of the crowd and music was perfect. Again, anytime i MAY consider doubting him...he shuts me the hell up. |

I thought PVD was great when he first came on but as the night progressed he kind of lost me. I still had a great time with friends :) LOL we were all over the place. Nice seeing you all ;)
At one point he played some really slow despressing song and I was literally sitting on the balcony falling asleep. We kept it going strong from the moment we walked in 11pm till about 4am at that point we needed to sit down. I didn't like the way he closed at all and he didn't even play till 6. I swear I heard him play like 3 tracks 2 times each.
Some songs he played (not in order)
Cressida - 6AM (Kyau & Albert Remix)
Martin Roth & Alex Bartlett - Off the World (played twice 2 different remixes)
Duderstadt - Muhanjala
Ronski Speed - Love All The Pain Away (Kyau & Albert Remix)
Way Out West - Mindcircuis
Paul Van Dyk - Face to Face
Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
Markus Schulz feat. Departure - Without You Near (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Kuffdam & Plant - The Ones We Loved
Paul Van Dyk - Another Way
Paul Van Dyk - New York City
Paul Van Dyk - Time of our Lives (played twice)
Awesome afterparty as well. We were still going well into the early evening the following day. I still haven't slept yet but after a little rest I will upload the pics ;) |
My guess is PVD was bored last nite or jet lagged. Either way, Ive been seeing him for over 6 yrs now and last nite was ... crap. Yea, i mean the first track opening was sick. The intensity was like holy crap, hes bringing it hard. But unfortunately, it went downhill from there. His last gig was a complete opposite from this one. Oh well, cant really hate him for not playing well. The trance genre hasnt put out a good record since 2001. :p Either way, fun seeing everybody out. Good times in terms of socializing with ppl. But musically, I think it was sub-par and a dissappointment. It sucks to hear a PVD set without any flow or build to it. :whip: |

Wow. I've never seen so many people drunk before. It was a horrendous site by the bar area. Everyone tripping over themselves. I even saw Southbound24's friend get kicked out for dry humping this girl by one of the pillars :wtf:
PvD started off strong, then lost me during the minimal/techno hour. But boy was that some real techno. I guess that was a sign to the audience to go and take a dump/piss and come back refreshed just before he bangs it back again.
Here's some tracks I remember. Adding to euphoria's list in no particular order. Anything bold means edited from her tracklist.
Intro (Consisted of a mashup of Sander van Doorn - Riff w/2 other ID tracks.)
Cressida - 6AM (Kyau & Albert Remix)
Martin Roth & Alex Bartlett - Off The World (Must've played the Super8 & Tab + Original Mixes.)
Duderstadt - Muhanjala (Original Mix)
Ronski Speed - Love All The Pain Away (Kyau & Albert Remix)
Way Out West Feat. Trisha Lee Kelshall - Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Paul van Dyk - Face to Face
Dubfire - Roadkill (I think it was the EDX's Acapulco At Night Remix)
Greg Downey - Stadium (Original Mix)
First State Feat. Anita Kelsey - Falling (Original Mix)
Alex M.O.R.P.H. & Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Mix)
Rank 1 - Breathing (Airwave 2003) (Breaks Mix)
Markus Schulz Feat. Departure - Without You Near (Nic Chagall Remix)
Kuffdam & Plant - The Ones We Loved (Dogzilla Remix) ?
Filo & Peri Feat. Eric Lumiere - Anthem (Original Mix)
Paul van Dyk - Another Way
Paul van Dyk, Starkillers, & Austin Leeds Feat. Ashely Tomberlin - New York City (Original Mix)
Paul van Dyk Feat. Vega 4 - Time of Our Lives (Paul van Dyk Club Mix)
Paul van Dyk Feat. Vega 4 - Time of Our Lives (Either a New Mix or an Acappella w/something else over it. This is the one with the acappella playing by itself for a few minutes.)
Paul van Dyk - Vega (Starcase Remix) (Mashed up with something else).
Onova - Platitude (Original Mix)
Binary Finary - 2008 ?
Andrea Doria Vs. LXR - Beauty of Silence (Inpetto Remix)
Deadmau5 - Not Exactly
Paul van Dyk Feat. Wayne Jackson - The Other Side (Either Original or a new mix.)
Lenny Kravitz - Believe in Me (Mind One Remix) (Played straight to the build/climax briefly, then mixed out.)
I'll update when I remember more. Videos will be posted on youtube/server soon. |

I totally agree. The opening portion of his set was great and I thought he really set the tone for what was gonna be a high energy set. But he definitely fell off towards the middle with the exception of some tracks here and there. He did bring back the energy towards the end but totally lost me with his encores. The party itself was great tho. Partying with great people definitely outshined the music last night. |
