I see what you're saying and I thought it was cool at first...but then to me it just seemed like he was bragging, and posted all this stuff so people would respond with "wow, that's so cool...you rock" to pad his ego.
That's just how I read into it though. I'll admit, I've never met him.

I recall that you started a thread about getting into law school..congrats btw.... sometimes people want to share their success with others and it is difficult to talk about something good happening to you without people thinking that your showing off...i learned that the hard way when i recently got engaged...:) |

Yes I did, and I even made specific mention saying "sorry if I'm bragging" (you'd know that if you read the thread).
And I didn't start 6 threads after that saying that I got into every other school I applied for, or that I graduated from University, or that I'm starting my thesis this summer...just to keep you guys posted.
Ya, great he's proud of his accomplishments...but a lot of the threads were just like "hey look at me everybody" if he was planning on updating people all the time perhaps he could have made a "Deadmau5's Update" thread or something. |

btw, i never said you were bragging..i pointed out that you were eager to share your success with others and therefore maybe you could understand why he would want to share as well...
as for the comment about his multiple posts..maybe he has more opportunity as this is a site related to his field of work..i've read the posts..and to me there is not one instance where he's bragging..he's providing info and updates....
i'm not trying to get anyone hot under the collar....we'll agree to disagree because if i was to get into the psychology of why people like to bash..it would get ugly..:) |
