why would i bother doing heaps of research into something im not interested in (im an atheist btw and dont believe in jesus to begin with) especially when your first post included plenty of apparent errors? |
errors only if you take someone's word over another. What I have written came from reading. I have references for every point I have made. |

an error isn't whether one opinion is more believable than another. an error, in this context, is a misstatement of fact.

that hardly makes what you say accurate. not that i have an opinion on this, because i don't even care, but the fact that you read something and referenced that source means little unless the source is reliable. |

i happen to have a PDF of the book I'm currently reading, The Christ Conspiracy found here
there are enough citations and references that a wealth of knowledge is accessible and easily verified.
it's rather lengthy, but a good browse should include quite a few interesting points.
naturally, i don't know anything for certain. |

i have no idea who is reputable in this field. i have no interest in it whatsoever. however, the cover looks rather amateur, and on a quick glance i couldn't find the author's name. hmmmmm.....a little telling. |

there is clearly much dispute about the facts.
wikipedia identifies closely to what i have stated.

So whats your point?
The "Jesus-Horus link" is a controversy, by definition, regardless what is in the conventional libraries.
Are you saying that the official/conventional/mainstream is always right and should not be questioned? History, not rarely, proves the opposite.
Anyway, dissecting these parallels between Jesus and other people makes little difference. Sun-worship, astrology, various people and deities were used as inspiration for the official Jesus and the bible. |

| I was taught in Catholic school that christianity combined a bunch of pagan elements in order to convert and control the population who were largely pagan. |

| It makes sense to worship the sun anyway. After all the heavier elements (including what makes us human) were created and diffused across the universe by supernovae. To quote Crowley, 'every man and woman is a star' |

the sun without a doubt has been the fixation of man for millenia.
LazFX, it's interesting to note that the statue of 'Peter' in the Vatican was formerly Jupiter, stationed in Rome. heh |
