That would normally be my response as well, but when a game has gone gold and is in the hands of reviewers who already seem to be universally praising the end result, it's hard not to get excited.

I have a question - does anyone know if the contract regarding downloadable content applies across the board?

Would really suck for PC gamers if they too were denied the DLC.

Any idea on the details of the contract though? I haven't ever seen the terms/length of the deal.

Haven't read any specifics, but from what I have read, Microsoft paid a hefty sum of money to get the only DLC content thru Xbox live and Xbox live only. So PS3 owners like myself are getting the shaft with no lube...but here is some lovely news from the exec's at Sony...

quote:
Scott Steinberg, VP of product marketing at Sony America, isn't concerned about Microsoft's exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV content. Speaking with GameDaily, Steinberg believes anyone who's played GTA: San Andreas knows there's plenty to do in a GTA game without adding extra content, but he really drives the point home with a zinger saying Microsoft "spent the GNP of several small Latin American countries to get that [content]."

Steinberg surmises that not a huge percentage of customers are going to jump for the downloadable content when GTA IV is so huge and they're still playing through the core game. He also contends that consumers who are still fence sitting about purchasing a console will want a PS3 after noticing that GTA IV, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are all on PS3.

Also, apparently Microsoft paid around 50 million for the GTA IV DLC.

Rockstar can do no wrong, they are gods among men. I am getting stoned and playing this game all day on Tuesday

P.S. Anyone remember RISE radio station on GTAIII? Got me interested in EDM again after getting out of it for a year or two for some reason

Rise FM together with MSX was ing awesome. Some very nice EDM was played by those radio stations.

In GTAIV we have 2 stations who kind of play some form of EDM:

1) Electrochoc: which plays dance music.

2) Another radio station playing EDM is 'The Journey' which plays Ambient/Chillout Music.

Says the dude with a mexican based avatar lol, maybe if I was mexican or lived in mexico, but ya you're an idiot. This game interests me as much as halo 3 did (never seen it played or played) I'm not the type of gamer that's in to sequels and prequels of the same gameplay. Steal a car shoot someone, bounce up and down in a car with a virtual hooker, meh is all it is. I loved the orginals for what they were... original.
