Who, exactly, are you angry at? And for that matter, what the hell is your point? |

Here's the problem with the argument you're making - it all relies on the assumption that we absolutely need oil, gasoline, and automobiles and cannot function without it.
That premise alone is a complete fallacy. You're more than welcome to try and "prove" to me that it isn't, but you won't. |

I don't recall being angry. I do recall starting a thread asking for a hypothetical opinion of what you think would happen in the next few years, should oil prices continue to climb unabbated, as they do now.
I do have my answer though - nothing. Ppl will continue to pay and assume that's how it has to be. There's one little problem with this formula. Part of the reason why US is one of the biggest, if not the biggest consumers of oil - it is in no small part of the geography of the land, how it was structured, and the state of mass transit system. Unlike Europe, where most towns were designed with mass transit in mind and industry surrounding it, in US - the same concept does not apply, unless you're in a major metropolitan area like Manhattan.
Nowdays, many companies move into areas that may be unpopulated because of various tax breaks. Good for them but you're relegated to commute to some Bumpkinville countless miles away.
It wasn't even a rant. It was a point for discussion. Nice for so many to take it completely out of context and turn it into a sh!t flinging match. |

Care to share your vision of the alternate plan? Go back to horses and buggies? Use golf carts to haul your groceries from Idaho to Wiscounsin? Forget those fancy "airplane" thingies and go back to coal-powered steamboats?
Lay it out, chief. |

This has moved from sad to just plain hilarious. You really live in a giant world of denial, don't you? |

You had to think about it for that long, and that's all you could come up with? Lol. |
I'm not as proficient at quickly flinging insults as you, dear. It's a skill that I've yet to perfect to your levels - I don't get to practice it as much as you do in my line of work. |

I see it also pays to be unoriginal. At least you understand the importance of recycling. |
