girl friends that i have always say "oh you'll change your mind someday!" or look totally horrified when i say i have no desire to give birth ever...i don't get that. its like religious people saying "oh someday you'll believe in god!" yea maybe theres a slight chance i'll change my way of thinking, but probably not...
kids and god, 2 things i'll avoid until I die.
squirrelly
I actually physically CAN'T have kids anyway, so it works out nicely for me. :)

Depending on how old you are now, there is a pretty decent statistical chance that they may be right. :p

i'm 25...its so weird but this year is the first year that i can vividly remember daydreaming about having a kid "aww that might be nice someday" then i snap out of it and punch myself repeatedly in the face with a brick.
i'd def have to meet mr. suuuper-right to consider it.

Exactly. People always make long-term predictions on the basis of current and past ill-defined information, e.g their present mood state and attitudes. I remembered one modern social psychologist- Daniel Gilbert-and his theory of "Affective Forecasting". According to this model, just as scientists use present data in order to make future predictions about the weather (which by the way is a chaotic and unpredictable system)and hence produce a "weather forecast", in the same way people are "naive scientists" who use present ill-defined cognitive data in order to make future predictions about their emotional state (and the accompanied attitudes/thinking patterns, which by the way they are formed in a chaotic, non-linear manner just like the weather).

In an experiment, people who were working-out (the experimental group) or not working-out (the control group) in the gym were asked the hypothetical question, that, if in a year were lost in a jungle with only limited supplies, and they had to choose between food or water which of the two should they prefer to have. People who were not working-out had an equal chance to choose between the two, whereas people who had just finished an intense 30-minute work-out were far more likely to choose water, stating that it would be essential for their survival.

So, think twice before you make any future predictions, because you are not the same person now that you were 5 and/or 10 years ago.

From talking to and knowing a lot of women in their 30s, many of them were like this. You're 25, that is still VERY young. In 5 years when you hit 30 and are at the perfect age to have a couple of children and probably have a pretty damn stable life and partner, your thinking might change completely.

Not saying it will but don't discount it :)

UGH I can't stand children. They smell, they're loud, and they cost so much money. I don't like kids, at ANY age. I'm the LAST person who will ever volunteer to babysit. If someone brings a kid around me I hand it off to the next person standing next to me.

That was like one of the first topics the new guy and I talked about. "do you want kids" "hell no" "thank god." Even now when we see kids around I look horrified.

Ha! You and I are so opposite, that must be why we <3 each other so much, Sara.

I love children. They are so magical and you can create so much magical moments...teaching a toddler to smell a sweet rose (oooooh!), don't step on the lines!, red light STOP!, green light GO GO GO, or okay, let's pretend we're fairies! and ya ya ya singing those silly nursery rhyme songs (they love it when they know the words)...the way a child's face lights up with they hear beautiful music or they find the easter eggs hidden in the grass...ring a round a rosies pocket full of posies ashes ashes we ALL FALL DOWN! Ha, they all laugh and laugh when we all fall down...

Kids are cool.

Actually, it's not.

The kids you are describing are not ed up. Their parents are irresponsible. It's the parents responsibility to teach children how to behave in restaurants and markets.
