Let me put it this way - ignore all the prophecy stuff you find, a lot of it is BS that people make up/mis-interpret.
Do have a look tho at the accuracy of the mayan calendar/astronomy.. you will not find anything that disputes their calendar/time keeping is more accurate then what we even use today.
Then consider this - when the modern world still thought the earth was flat/sun revolved around us etc etc these guys knew what they did thousands of years ago. The big question here is how?
Their 5000 year old diagrams display planets/comets that we have only discovered this century.
Then when you can accept that part of it (which is a 100% verified fact) ask could it not be possible that these people could know something we don't?
Seriously, thousands of years before we had half a clue about any of this stuff they could do a lot of it better than we can today.
Is it not conceivable that we've been missing something they knew about the whole time? |

Solar flares are sometimes nasty. Maybe they knew it was a really big one? Perhaps it would knock out all the power on one side of the world for quite a while(and damage tons of electronic equipment)? That could certainly cause a major shift in the world.
Either that or its the date of global warming. |

yeah, that's pretty much my position. i havent found anything particualrly scientific to validate the claims being made re the mayan calendar. |

| On Dec 21st 2012 I'm gonna head down to beach with a giant blunt and a 100gm pack of chips. It is there where I intend to watch some mad take place. If nothing does then at least I would feel like I've just eaten the sickest pack of chips ever!! |
