Some Wisdom For My Teeth

Just wanted to know if there is anyone who has had their wisdom teeth pulled without being placed under any anesthetic or laughing gas?? just simply being frozen and awake for it all!
Im being told by my surgeon that i will ONLY be frozen for the extraction of all 4 of my wisdom teeth.
The option to be put to sleep is always there, however, i was told by an another surgeon who was originally scheduled to do the extraction for me, that i would have to refrain from recreational use of drugs including marijuana, for 2 weeks prior to the surgery if i choose to be placed under Anesthetic. Considering the surgery is in a couple of days, i don't think it would be a good idea to ask for it. |

Ya I did.
It's just a weird feeling, having really sharp objects being tossed around inside your mouth.
Especially if they have to pull those buggers out in pieces, eeek, but ya, you wont feel anything obviously, just weirdness. |

| Oh man, in the same boat. I'm freaking out. I hate dentists. All 4 need to be pulled. I want lots of drugs & paid short term disability from my work establishment. |

| They just locally numb you and go to town. You still dont feel anything and you basically just get up and go when ur done instead of being all groggy and after u wake up from being gased. Plus when they're done they'll give u some vikes so when the anesthesia wears off, you still feel nothing. It was actually a pretty sweet deal, i'd do it again. |

I highly recommend getting the anesthesia, the 5-10 seconds between when you get it and when you pass out are fantastic. I don't see how weed and anesthesia would be a problem unless you are smoking on the way in to the surgery. Of course they will tell you that to be safe but medically speaking two weeks is ridiculous that drug is not going to be active in your body more than a couple hours after you last used. A friend of mine has an extreme fear of surgery and her oral surgeon had no problem with her taking a bunch of xanax prior to the surgery (there was no way in hell she could get there otherwise) and that would be a much more dangerous drug to combine with anesthesia than weed. |

| I loved being awake for it first of getting a needle in your gums ing swee it goes all numb and I made sure they double dosed it :p then the sensation of the dentist cracking the tooth in half was awesome it sounded so loud in my head. I had 2 taken out and can't wait to do my other 2 it wasn't bad at all. Mmm and then taking 4 perks at a time ftw I think I went through a full bottle in 2 days lol I was eating them like pez |

| In Soviet Russia you extract the teeth of your dentist. |

bhaha...
wait a second you want me to stop doing drugs? -- doctor what's the alternative!
i don't know what i would have done if i wasn't asleep, i saw some pics of the surgery and it was disgusting. blood everywhere and a f'ing pry bar to break apart the tooth only to be yanked out later by some crazy looking tongs.
i was on ice cream + milk + protein powder + blender for about 3 days. |
