I hate to sound like a new ager or a hippie, because I'm not; I'm a hardened disgruntled with a really soft center. But if humanity made a simple choice between peace and fear... this would end tommorow and we'd have a planet worth living in versus a chaotic prison where we've grown to love being the warden's bitch. Awesome. You guys continue to ignore Iran's leaders, who are very mad by the way, and their shameless hate speeches.
The good thing is of course that Western world leaders continue to ignore the thoughts of Iran apologists :)
You can guys can cry and blog all you want about the "unfair" treatment the West gives Iran. Nobody's goin to listen to you.

How are Iran's leaders mad? They're very religious, yes but then, so are you, and so is Bush, yet you don't claim your own president is mad and incapable of running a country (tho many do!), so what exactly is it about Iran's leaders that make you think they're "mad"?
As for ignoring what Iran's leaders say, well, you claim they're mad, so why would you believe what they say?
Also, leaders say a lot of things, but it in no way means they're going to follow through on what they've said. There are political reasons why a lot of things are said by governments, and laying out what you intend to do to your public is only one of the reasons, not the only reason as you're suggesting

I'm not denying those things. But to say Iran hates all things Western? That just implies a lack of understanding for Iranian culture. Using the American Revolution as an example. We fought our oppression with the ideals of John Locke and Adam Smith. The principles of individual freedom. The Iranians took a different road. Their revolution against oppression took the form of Islamic ideals. Remember how democracy failed for the Iranians? When Iranians voted for someone the US or UK didn't like, they launched a coup from where?...the US embassy...When democracy fails, and autocracy fails (under the shah), the only thing left for them was religion. They rallied to their religion. And it was religion which delivered Iran from its oppressors. Is it no wonder why the religious authorities still have enormous weight? It is the Islamic regime which made Iran free from foreign meddling, and the ravages of Iraq's Western-supported invasion of Iran. But with Islamic governance comes strict moral standards imposed by the government. Yes, this limits individual freedom which we enjoy in the West, but it is not as bad as many of you make it. They are not rounding up Christians and Jews for wholesale execution...:rolleyes:
Oh, and they love Western music and movies if you didn't know PKC...;)
