It sucks to be in narcism and Fledz and my situation at the moment, cos its too expensive to get in now and only going to get worse. |

I still live at home, 21, am starting full time work at the end of the year and am looking to move out then. Yep, for me it's an absolutely terrible time and going to get even worse. Then in a couple of years when I want to buy, it will be even worse than now! :( |

That's not bad for Fairfax. You'll be a way out of the city, where rent is a lot cheaper. Apartments near the Metro in Fairfax can run $1500 for a three bedroom condo. Find a couple roommates and you won't be living much more expensively than you would in, say, the Midwest. You should know that Fairfax is one of the outermost suburbs though, and that it isn't really living in the city at all (as the thread title suggests). |

I would have to charge u for such life changing advice. Living with the parents is ok for a little while, to help u get a nice savings, pay off any remaining debt, etc. After that, take mama's nipple out of your mouth and become an adult. Having some money constraints/stress will force u to improve your job, education, etc. since u would have too to make it! |

Where I'm currently living at my neighbors are corn fields and chicken houses I consider it the city :D. Anyway, thanks for the advice dude. That isn't really that bad and doable. |

maybe if you took the time to learn about any other culture besides your own you'd realize that it's quite common in many other countries (especially in Europe) for people to live with their parents until they get married.
personally, i see nothing wrong with that. why waste money on high cost of living and give up a great support system just for a few years of independence? if you're the type that has to be "forced" to be independent, then maybe moving away from home is a good idea... but i think it's entirely possible to "grow up" while still living in the same house as your parent(s). |
