It's ok Jake, it's ok. I wore a I [batman symbol] shirt. It's ok. |

Truth be told, I actually went digging through my closet today to see if I had any Batman shirts that were still large enough to fit me.

| quote: | And actor Michael Caine said the opening monologue of Heath Ledger was "one of the best close-ups I've ever seen in my life."
Caine, who plays Batman/Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred, repeated his belief that at the very least Ledger should receive a best supporting actor nomination.
“He was a young actor and this is his moment. He's going to get the Oscar for this.''
Caine added: “I couldn’t believe the intensity and ferocity of the performance. But when we were sitting down between takes, he was completely ordinary. He wasn't preparing himself or saying 'Please leave me alone, I've got to do this.' Instead he was talking to me.
“We would sit and chat and have a cup of coffee, then suddenly they'd say, 'We're ready, Heath,' and he'd go straight into The Joker. His energy was astonishing, especially when it came from this kind of calm. He's certainly the best villain I've ever seen.” |

geeez cant believe im gonna have to wait in line for a couple hrs just to get good seats for this. Just watched the first one again yesterday for a little refresher n for the record the original by tim burton completely pwns its face. Theres just so many little things that I think are done better in tims version than in batman begins that make it a better movie....
ive a feeling all the hype surrounding heaths role has a lot to do with sympathy over his passing. Jack Nicholson as the Joker will be very hard to top....i mean cmon the scene where he gets the bandages taken off n goes "mirror....MIRROR!" is just classic |

Don't lie, you'll be in line with your Batman costume on with a sick utility belt. |
when I was 4 or 5, I got my utility belt, tied the batarang around a banister in front of my room, and repelled my way down to the family room. my mom caught a glimpse of this maneuver as I was about halfway down and was not exactly thrilled.
and on that note, I am off to the theater. |

Nicholson's is brilliant, yes. However, if you had kept up with this movie from the beginning then you would already be aware of the tremendous amount of hype surrounding Ledger's role that existed long before his death. Michael Caine said in November that it was one of the most brilliant things he'd seen.
Also (and we've said this in the other Dark Knight threads, too), the two Jokers are different Jokers, and as such cannot be compared. The Joker that this one is based off of is from The Killing Joke. Go find it and read it.
(God, I sound like a nerd. RJT's gamer thread, anyone?) |

I seriously have not been this excited for a new movie in a very, very, very long time. I've been watching my DVDs of Batman: The Animated Series like crazy the last couple days just to give me something to do. |
YES! Now if Kevin Conroy could just dub over Bales voice the movie would get 5 million bonus points from me right there |
