So I got to thinkin....... BBQ?

Yep, I did get to thinkin.... & that's scary in it's own right.
But what I'm thinkin about, I think (damn... there's that word again) most of y'all will be interested in.
So without further delay, here's what stirred my graymatter this day:
TOTA BBQ
Now I know Nat's not here to make it easy for us, but that's no reason why we can't at least look into having one in her absence. Hopefully she'll swing in here & give us the pointers we need to make it happen the right way.
But what we really need to do is get down to some serious discussion b/c it takes time to line up the necessary permits to close a street for a party/bbq/tune extravaganza like this, and I've been told by a couple of people in the city's by-law dept's that that timeframe could actually be a month.
So today's July 16th. Which would give us 6 weeks or so to get everything sorted. Fine & dandy, lots of time right?
Well, we'll need to put in applications for a road closure permit & if that takes 4 of those weeks, plus other things to plan & line up like porta-relief stations et al., that means we have no more than a couple weeks to yap about it and start the ball rolling.
So I put this though forth from here to all of you now:
If you want a TOTA end of summer BBQ to happen this year, hop in here & let's start tossing out a few ideas for locations etc., b/c I know I'd love to enjoy another one as the vibe simply cannot be beat.
And hey, if it turns out that I'm crazy & no one wants to do this, that's cool too. At least I shared a thought lol! |

I figure let's start with some serious location plannin. Probably best if it's a smaller side street near public transit (better still of it's on the subway) for all to get to & leave their cars at home. Beer & LCBO proximity is a nice to have but not critical. But a welcoming neighbourhood is. |

I figure it's best to figure out what sorta central area to go for & then to go after this with a specific street or 2 in mind. It's probably best if we have it on a street where at least one person lives on as the bureaucrats would likely find it odd to have a street closure request coming from someone who doesn't live there or at least near there.
Great though on the gear... that's always something necessary. What kinda gear do you have on hand to help make this happen? |

i wanted to so bad last year, but i guess i asked too late....
well im sure someone else has cdj-1000 mk3s..... i have mk2 800 (pioneer)....and djm-700 mixer |
