honour among thieves as they say...if he was put in the general pop. he would see his end a la jeffrey dahmer..u can be sure of that....i commend every cop that takes a run at this guy and every supervisor that turns his head the other way..
as for him only getting 10-25 for second degree...he will be charged with a bunch of stuff..i`m guessing, attempted murder for when he tried to take a swipe at the dudes.....and a bunch more i`m sure...he will have to probably serve them all consecutively..the guy ain`t getting out for the rest of his life.. |

It's not 10-25, it's mandatory life, with option of parole within 10-25 years (date determined by the judge). |

| What I dont understand is why the cops just didn't shoot him, even with non-lethal force, during the 5 hr standoff, as the guy defiled the body even more? Hell, a lethal hit would've saved the Canadian taxpayers lots of dollars, and I doubt the dude's wife would've sued for wrongful death. |

^^ I agree completely, they should've shot him if he was cutting up and eating the body. I'm sure that doing so is within the parameters of the law. At least Tim's parents would have had something to bury.
I also have a huge problem with the 35+ passengers sitting around doing nothing while he was defiling the poor guys body. I mean they had already left the bus and were armed with some makeshift weapons, but were too scared to go back in and disarm him.
It's easy for us to sit here and judge the passengers but honestly if I was there, I would be so angry and disgusted that I would risk my own well being rather than just sit there and feel powerless. I cannot comprehend how all of these people (seniors and children excluded) were more concerned about themselves than putting a stop to the gruesome acts being committed against a fellow citizen. In many other countries people would have the balls to do something about it and risk getting a few cuts and bruises. Not to mention that Li is 5'8 and the knife he was using is nowhere near the size that some were reporting.
This morning I was having a coffee on a Starbucks patio sitting next to a black dude who was reading a book and minding his own business. There was a sketched out bum on the sidewalk who came up to him and started saying nigga this nigga that you don't belong in this country etc......they exchanged insults but the guy wouldn't give up. I looked around me and everyone on the patio was sinking their heads into their newspapers/laptops and trying to avoid everything that was going on! I couldn't believe my eyes! So I told the bum to get ing lost and went to tell the kids working at the counter what was going on. When I got back both him and the black guy were gone and everyone on the patio was discussing the altercation...Excuse me where the were you when all of this was going down??
This incident can be related to Tim's gruesome murder. If people are not willing to say anything to put a bum in his place then how are they going to try and disarm a maniac on a bus. I think that the whole "mind your own business" mentality is too common in Canada. Remember what they say about those who did nothing to stop the Nazi's just because they were "minding their own business". |
