his undying motive is not wanting to put up with the blow back if (and the odds are in this favor)it does not work out and you guys are stuck with her.
Do you ever hear about those couples that meet, say it is love at first sight and get married right away? How many of those actually last? ;)
Convenience is a very dangerous thing. |

Just tell the girl you like her, and that you think it would be awkward sharing a room with someone youre interested in. Only two things could happen:
A - She likes you too, and you guys all the time and dont have to fit 2 beds into one room.
B - She understands, and agrees it could be awkward if the feelings arent mutual. |
Are you out of your mind? The best way to turn a girl off is make things obvious to her. To a guy, kissing a girl and telling her you like her have a similar meaning. Namely, "I like you well enough to search for cavities in your mouth with my precious tongue". But, to a girl, if you tell her you're into her like that, you come across as a freak. But, if you simply kiss her, she will be led to believe, by her strange logic, that you guys clicked and mutually realised how wonderful you are to one another. |

but then this friend (who I don't know that well) who is pretty chill has gone all up tight on me, and seems like he's doing everything in his power to not have her move in. I feel like he has some underlying motive or something.

your friends sounds a little jealous of your random fortune of finding a hot chick to room with |

I just moved to a resort town where the housing situation is extremely tight, so everyone shares a bedroom with one, if not two others.
I couldn't find any housing at first, but eventually my friend's house had a room open, but they wanted more girls. So I told my friend I'd find a girl to share a room with, so that they at least have 1 more girl in the house. So I email some girl on craigslist that was also looking for housing and met up and had coffee. She turns out to be incredibly cute, (and french), and super cool. After coffee we went out for 2 pitchers of beer, and then bought a bottle of wine and wandered around some trails around the resort for a few more hours. 7 hours together straight, and we never talked to anyone else. I just told her I'd let her know as soon as possible when I know that we can move into this house.
I didn't find out for 2 more days that I could move in, so me and this girl hung out the next 2 days, walking around, doing nothing, finding things in common, getting along perfect (and me thinking she's amazing)...
Now yesterday I got the go ahead that I could move in to the house, and that I could pick whoever I wanted to share a room with, just as long as they are cool.
So now my friend has been trying to convince me for hours that if I have any feelings for this girl at all it is a stupid idea to set myself and the other roommates up for disaster and problems in the future... since I can't deny having feelings for her so he is straight up telling me that I shouldn't let her move in tomorrow. Oh, and at this very moment, she thinks she's 100% moving in, and seemed excited about sharing a room with me.
So do I cancel the love miracle waiting to happen, in hopes of avoiding disaster if things don't work out?
Or do I just go for it?
I mean what if she actually doesn't even like me at all, she's just all chill and happy all the time. Then I gotta share a room with a girl I'm crazy about? |
Dude, totally them. Let her move in with you. If hits the fan, then so what. Get a new roommate. Problem solved. |

Ya I've now made up my mind I got hafta just say ' em'. Can't turn back now.
Even if nothing happens between us, I'm still gonna have a cool roommate. |
