Dude, mobile costs in Europe are insane compared to here. I have unlimited internet, texting (picture, regular or video), and mobile to mobile, 600 minutes, and a candian long distance plan and I pay $85/month. That same plan in Europe is like 130/month. Our plans are significantly cheaper in the US comparatively.
Also, phone subsidies are going down worldwide. |

i wasn't at all trying to say the Razr2 is a competitor for a PDA phone. just saying its what i'm used to and the Touch Pro is 2X as thick...which is a negative for me. the BB Storm is thinner...so that's a plus for me. if they had the Storm for Sprint i'd get it in a second. |
I know - I was more trying to highlight the fact that people are making a fuss about nothing in relation to the width of phones and that 18mm thickness isn't really a concern - its still thin enough to fit in any jeans pockets and is only 6mm thicker than most other phones.
Sprint have amazing deals on HTC phones and I know people who are customers for a long time can really get more than just the advertised offers. |

yeah - i can get the Touch Diamond for $99 the Touch Pro for $49 and 20% off the monthly service price via a special corporate discount. $70 a month for unlimited web data/pics/texts/etc., with 900 minutes isn't bad at all. |

I would switch for that! |

not in the UK they're not - T-mobile, for 25 quid I got a load of minutes, unlimited weekend and evening and for 9 quid more, unlimited HSUPA data which was faster than my home 2mg broadband (and reception relaibly covers nearly all of the UK). Also I got my HTC Kaiser (MDA Vario 3 for free the day it was released). To this date T-mobile has not yet released the Kaiser and AT&T (the first US provider to launch it) released it a good six month later, but the first batches all went to existing business clients at a cost of $200 minimum per phone.
So in dollars, in the UK I was paying about $55 for as many minutes as I could use in a business day and unlimted, incredibly fast data. Oh yeah, I dropped the phone and they sent a replacement free of charge within 24 hours (no insurance plan).
Seriously, mobile phones are the one thing in the UK that are cheaper, and are the first to come out. |

Well I guess in the UK it is different, but another TA told me about the cost of her plan a few months ago in France, and it was insane. I was like OUCH!!!
Also, in the UK do they have a regulatory agency like the FCC? |

True. Apparently it's bad in Germany and Holland too. Handsets cost a arm and a leg and the plans aren't much better either. |

that's how much i didn't like the thickness of the Touch Diamond. Touch Pro was okay but i didn't care for the OS....and i'd prefer having the keypad.
i do know you can customize the hell out of it since its on Windows Mobile....don't have much time/patience to do that. |
