dubai is crazy, a city of the future. They are building a building biger than the barj. Then they are building a building which is equal to 4 of that building they are building biger than the barj.
Wow, I used the building alot. kind of reminded me of blazzing saddles.

There is just so much wrong about Dubai, but I am not going to get into ranting. (and I am talking in general)
Why don't you guys research for yourselves.

I agree... The population just broke 1 million a year or two ago. It is an urbanists or city planner's nightmare. Le Corbusier would be rolling in his grave. Building a city as large in space as New York City for a population that's less than 2xBostons (relatively small) is just dumb. And with the stuff in the news, and the overall shadiness, there's a reason there's widespread vacancy in the world's only 7-star hotel and yet finding any vacancy in any Berlin or Milan or Tokyo or London hotel is just hard to come by this time of year. Of course I'm generalizing a bit, but we'll see as time wears on if this "experiment" will work out... My personal opinion is that it won't. Parks with no one in them, sidewalks with no business, etc., it just doesn't seem right.

I like this thread, keep em coming.

Probably one of my favorite interior/exterior relationships, done by one of the best, Peter Zumthor... This one's called the Therme Vals, it's a natural hot springs bath house...
^^^As you can see, small slivers of light are let in by small slivers of space in the cieling/roof. The effect is incredible....
^^More slivers of light...
^^Huge windows let swimmers relax, sit down, and watch a nearby hillside as it ascends upward...

Wow, those are all awesome pics! Makes me wanna travel more and more.
Had this sent to me a while back..
6 Menacing Towers fit for a Supervillian:
Jin Mao Tower - Pudong, Shanghai
Moser Tower - Napperville, Illinois
Fernsehturm - Berlin, Germany
Oriental Pearl Tower - Pudong, Shanghai
Taipei 101 - (Xinyi District) Taipei, Taiwan
Never thought of Taipei 101 as looking menacing, though the last two pics are a bit more convincing lol
Zižkov Television Tower - Zižkov, Prague
Faceless babies FTW! :)

Nice pics, Blake! A lot of those I've never seen before.....
Taken from today's ArchDaily: Los Silos Youth Centre by Lavin Architects....
I like how it's an extension of the land, similar to a project I'm working on now...

A house that fascinated me:
http://www.robertbruno.com/
The artist has been building this house himself for over 30 years if I am not mistaken.

Yeah I read about him, that's nuts.... Here's another interesting concept by Italian architect Carlo Ratti... It was from this year's Zaragoza Expo... He invents a system in which walls are formed by water. When you approach the wall, a sensor tells the waterwall to open up for you, as if it's a door... Check it out!
