New Museum Of Modern Art Building Under Construction.

Architect Jean Nouvel has unveiled his design for a new 75-story tower on a site next to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The tower at 53rd West 53rd Street will contain a hotel, luxury apartments and three floors for use by MoMA to expand its exhibition space.

10-Storey Spiral Stairs Made with Escalators!!

Star Place is a new Taiwanese department store designed by Dutch architects UNStudio. Outside, the building is beautiful, with a curved façade that glows in a weird star-like moiré pattern. However, the best part of this structure is inside, in its 10-storey atrium, where the designers have constructed an spiral stair made by rotating escalators over a central axis.

Dubai.........all those buildings but nobody to live in them. Talk about a straw man country

as eco said before, dubai is the antithesis of a well designed/planned city. There is no sense of community and all the measures to make it look like a real city fail because no one treats it like a real city. all the flashy buildings (and decent architecture) can't make up for poor urban planning.

Yeah, it's a well designed/planned city for the rich ofcourse. Poverty is not a concern. Dubai is evolving and one day it will be 1 of the most facinating cities in the world. It might be like NYC with it's Manhattan & surrounding ghetto's :stongue:

I sense the sarcasm but either way, it will never be like a New York or London or Tokyo. These cities are rich in history, hundreds, some even thousands of years old. Dubai is just being forcefed and jumpstarted to existence, with so many things wrong with it ALREADY. It has massive 6-hour long traffic jams already and less than only 1.5 million people.

It's not well-designed in anyone's eyes or by anyone's standards who's ever studied city-planning or urbanism.

I dont know what it is about these designs, but i love it. I like the modern looks, the simplicity, the shapes, colors and the overall design.
