Finally finished reading Nineteen Eighty-Four. Not exactly holiday reading, but very pertinent considering the nanny state that is Ontario.
Not new ideas, or a new book, but still helped to bring together a lot of floating and random thoughts. |

| i will take this opportunity to recommend my favourite book, "the historian" by elizabeth kostova. i've forced it upon a few people and they all enjoyed it. good if you're into eastern european history and vampire legends, which i am. ;) |

Attwood's "The handmaid's tale" is very similar but from the girl's prespective
very frightening too! |

no George RR Martin??!! What, why? (unless you've already read what's been released for song of ice and fire, really well written)...Have you read any David Eddings? Maybe give one of those series a try (ex. the Belgariad or Malloreon) :)
