Nonsense!! We will be having our designated, fireside reading hour, each night between 9pm and 10pm, whether you like it or not. SHUT UP AND READ FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! :stongue:

Hahaha...I can totally see you both wearing Christmas sweaters, sipping hot cocoa in rocking chairs by the fire. Or perhaps curled up on a rug together reading. (And then taking pictures of it)

Is this a fictional book they wrote, or non-fictional?

It is non fiction. It is a book of interviews done by Mary Kate and Ashley of all their major influences in fashion, film, life etc. It is supposed to be very good. Interested in it for a light read :)

I found that amazing :) did you read her recent one, The Almost Moon? that is such a difficult book to go through :(

While I enjoyed Lucky, I found it I grew tired of the Rape trial... so tedious. Is the Almost Moon as graphic?

I'd say go old school and read Masquerade of the Red Death trilogy or The Horizon War series (very tough to find though) by Robert Weinberg. Good old White Wolf Publishing!

Also, check out David B. Coe's Lon Tobyn Chronicle series (Children of Amarid, The Outlanders, and Eagle Sage) as well as the Winds of the Forelands series (Rules of Ascension, Seeds of Betrayal, Bonds of Vengence, and Shapers of Darkness)

James Clemens' The Banned and the Banished series is pretty good (i think there are 5 in the series)

I'm in the process of reading his new series The Godslayer Chronicles.

Damn i could go one forever but these should keep you busy. I'd go for the Weinberg ones first, they are classics!

Ok. I will give these a try, but it's hard finding fantasy books with not so generic 'kingdom has to be saved by hero' blah blah blah. Almost like trance, many fantasy books have become.

Definitely sounds interesting. You'll have to let me know how you like it.

yeah it's pretty graphic - not sure if you know the story line but it's just a depressing book all around

Lucky is a semi-memoir, but it was an easier read for me

Lovely Bones is my most favorite novel by her!

oh, another good read - Prisoner of Tehran by Marina Nemat (she's actually half Russian!)

We have similar taste in books! I loved lovely bones and Prisoner of Tehran is on my upcoming "to read" list.... I will skip Almost Moon, thanks for the heads up :)

That's why I put down "The Wheel of Time" after halfway through book 8, it drove me CRAZY trying to get through it. Back into it now and will probably read the next 2 or so then stop, then after another book back into it until the end (the last book is due next year.)
