Setup : It was like a normal show is made at Bell Center... but with vip areas... much better than the setup when armin / roger / rank1 etc played
The screen behind the booth wasnt that great when we came in and Adam K was playing... sound wasnt loud enough either... but obviously they were waiting for Tiesto to come on to push it higher
The visual guy they had is freakin amazing... clean images... lots of interaction with the crowd brought with the screen
"Montreal je veux vous entendre" and "Tiesto wishes everyone a happy new year" made the crowd scream like mofos haha
Highlight of the night... Lethal Industry & Silence back to back

He started very proggy... i really enjoyed the first 3 hours...
After that i was way too wasted hahaha
Adam K played pretty good... very fun guy to meet in person... Bon Vivant like we say in french
The emphasis was put a lot on the stage itself... the lighting coming from the booth was excellent and the screen was so freakin huge that it was the show fun to actually watch

I actually think that the people who paid 100$ got what they paid for.... and even more
It's like a pop star show... but extended to a party version that lasts much longer

waa..ok ill try to make it longer than 13 words...
so, first of all i am pissed and disgusted with the way the so called VIPs were treated, pathetic. I came there at 11h45 ish. We were 4 ppl, 3 had VIP and 1 was regular. The regular line had like 3000 ppl in it and the VIP line no more than a 100. So my friend went to go in line. 15 min later we get a txt ``im in front of the stage``....our line didnt even moveeeeee. We wait and wait and wait and the line just wont fkn move! Ppl started getting aggravated shoving and pushing which only slowed down the situation. THere were girls with like tiny skirts and basically no coat, waiting outside, it was like easy -25! Once inside...like 4 minutes before tiesto started, im denied access to the VIP platform because there are ```too many ppl on it already``, so in order to go to the bathroom we had to go allll the way around, pissoff and the bathrooms were far! so ya thats for the negative.
no for the positive, the place was paackkeed which was really cool, a lot of hot ladies, sick view when you climbed to the top of the seats. Tiesto came on time, seemed crancked out, prolly dead from yesterday. Played decently well, i like it, some nice proggy techy trance and some unicornz here and there, very good but not quite as good as quebec city 4 months ago.
To my big surprise Greg or Craig or wtv Pettigrew was decent, much better than last time at quebec, and wizz was very good too, as usual. I left around 9 and the place was still full.
so ya thats a little more than thirteen words, im gonna go to sleep for a week now, happy new year everybody, hope you had fun!!
...uughhh:whip: freakin VIPs suuuuuch a pissoff! dayum i hope they have a good explanation for that.... |

But it's the bell center crew who decided that the VIP areas werent safe if everyone was on and off at any time
People on the stages were dancing too hard haha... it was shacking so much |

Nah, it's because the PA was too small for the room.

There were only two electric trusses in the FOH so there wasn't much choice than to have the focus on the stage. I dunno if you got up close enough but that DJ booth was pretty f*cking nice.
Those translucent video walls are sweet tho and I am sure it was put to good effect.
I dunno if you caught Madonna @ the Bell but she put them to very good use - along with all the rest of the crap she brought :-) |

| Ce n'est pas la première fois que je vais au Centre Bell pour un évènement de cet envergure, mais cette année l'organisation avait quelques lacunes. Comment peut-on attendre 2 heures avant d'entrer dans un édifice qui ne manque pas d'espace et d'entrées. Depuis plusieurs années, je ne me rappelle pas avoir fait une aussi longue file d'attente. Premièrement il fallait attendre environ 45 minutes dans un corridor avant de pouvoir rentrer à l'intérieur du centre bell. Une fois à l'intérieur, il fallait attendre encore 10 minutes pour atteindre le vestiaire. Pensant en avoir fini avec les files d'attentes, je suis arrivé à la fouille, où les filles allaient de leur côté et les garçons de l'autre. Les filles avec qui j'étais ont passé la fouille en 5 minutes, tandis que j'ai attendu plus 30 minutes pour arrivé à l'agent de sécurité qui me fouillerais. Pourquoi on a pas combiné les deux fouilles ensemble, ça aurait réduit notre temps d'attente d'au moins 15 minutes. Je suis curieux de savoir combien de personnes ont été prise avec des stupéfiants, car réellement je ne me suis jamais fait fouiller comme ça auparavant. Est ce que ces méthodes ont apporté de meilleurs résultats, je crois qu'elles ont créé plus de frustration qu'autre chose...Sur une note un peu plus positive, je fut très impressionné à mon arrivé sur le plancher de danse, la présentation qui inclus l'éclairage et l'écran géant était impressionnante. Peut-être qu'on aurait pu placer d'autre colonne de son à l'autre extrémité pour que le son soit mieux répartit, en ayant des colonnes à l'avant seulement, il y a une énorme perte pour ceux que se trouve à l'autre bout. Je suis arrivé et Tiësto avait déjà commencé son set, excellent set en général, bien construit du début à la fin, j'ai bien aimé les clin d'oeil à Age Of Love et Children. Heureusement, il n'y avait pas de file d'attente à la sortie.... |

I would have to agree with Louis. Sick show...the setup was intense just like his in-concert dvds (almost)...I was expecting another regular bal en blanc/resolution/sensation setup....but dam when i got in annd saw that screen with the lighting that came out of it wow did it ever put a smile on my face. When tiesto came on the crowd just went nuts and from there the next 5 hours were just intense. I would say (sticking to his own classix) In the dark, Lethal Industry and Silence were sick..other traxx (cant remember named) were sick also..i was actually happy that he didnt play traffic so fe dup of it) but was really disapointed that he didnt play just be :(
...the crowd was really interactive and so was tiesto..everytime he would grab the mic wow the crowd screaming made me deaf. Especially on the screen when it would say happy new years or make some noise...ok again sick party..so far the sickest setup i have seen at a big event in montreal..the crowd was very interactive but one big problem..man there were some young ppl in there...this kid next to me (all the way in the front) looked like he was 16..i had to ask him his age..:/ and some people coming in their with shirts/blazers..kind of puzzled me out.. i liked the fact that a whole group of kids in front of us got carded and rejected after the checks :)..that should teach those young kids to stay home and be where they are supposed to be (bed)
one thing was lacking..LAZERS! my god if tiesto only had what roger sanchez had at sensation 2007 (lil lazer) even that would have been enough...
In conclusion to my lil minny essay..those who though that it would suck and decided not to show up or thought it was too expensive..well u missed out i guess :) |
