Can they air-con a massive space like that though, or would closing the roof just create a huge, stagnant heat pit with hardly any air-flow? Could be a worse condition to play under, as the humidity would build up from all the bodies under there.
Nostalgic
Although David "Fats" Nalbandian is unfortunately out, just had to post this.

as for closing the roof, it actually makes the inside hotter, hence why the roof remains open on hotter days :D

well nevermind about Federer-Del Potro.

That was just a beatdown. :haha:

Del Potro had nothing on Federer.

i feel for djokovic, unfortunate he had to go out like that. fedeerer spanked del potro...double bagels :wtf: that's embarrassing.

didn't watch the safina-dokic match and even though dinara pulled off the win i'm not so sure she has it in her right now to beat zvonareva. she berated herself the other day to the media about how she's lucky to be there and i looked at her stats from this match and she's right. she's not playing her best and not sure a mediocre safina can pull off the win. i hope so but not sure.

i'd have to think it's air conditioned inside laver. maybe a native oz can shed light on that.

yes they can.

There are a few baseball parks here in the US, which are much larger than tennis courts) that that have both a retractable roof and air conditioning.

one example:

when was the court built? was it built before they implemented the retractable roofs?

Yea but people are more environmentally conscious these days. Air conditioning such a big space is a massive waste of power for little gain.

retractable roofs cost millions of dollars, imo not a sound financial decision

Yep. Roddick-Federer will be a great match, especially with the way Roddick has been playing.
