As I've said in the thread before, I honestly don't think these boys were born evil, and being abused by other adults than his parents probably will just make them feel more like outcasts of society..

Having taken classes in juvenile forensic psych, i can tell you this is not a good idea.

There is no amount of coddling that could ever save /b/...luckily. :]
Its a good thing, as we know these kids are just going to be inconvenienced by doing some community service and getting a slap on the wrist, we can trust /b/ will ruin their lives for good. |

Having known people in the juvenile justice system, both as law enforcement/prosecutors and public defenders as well as kids that have been in the system I can say that most of the kids made stupid mistakes and were acting out. They are kids still. There is a legal definition to it.
Yea they might have lingering issues, but thats how the US juvenile justice system works. Its not about punishment as it is rehabilitation and education for the kids inside of it. If these kids can come out of it better than when they went in they will have learned a lesson from this and be able to be productive adults.
Really they need to be given a second chance. I am sorry if you feel that its not severe enough. I can suggest some countries that have quite a bit more severe juvenile punishment systems if you would like to raise your children there. |

Luckily I have no plans for kids...I actually am really...uh, grossed out by kids. They just make me uneasy.
Maybe thats why I feel they need to be so brutally punished.
However, we COULD send those kids to some more severe countries. :] |

Well good, if you did have kids your ideas of punishment for them would more than likely lead them to be as bad or worse than these kids. :) |
