We Actually Have It Pretty Nice

So, I was in New York a couple of weeks ago to see my friend at NYU and catch some shows.

Opera really isn't that bad compared to these New York places apparently. Webster's Hall and Pacha make Opera look the Utopia of clubs.

Ferry @ Webster's Hall

Read that thread for an impression of Webster's Hall...sounds like the sound system and lighting are top notch...but wow...the staff and over all environment would probably make Dante cringe.

Not to say all of NYC's clubs are bad, because Club Love was pretty ing sweet.

Just wanted to say...Opera is apparently not that bad.

But Webster Hall has good sound...

/argument.

New York gets a lot more talent that there is currently no market for in Atlanta.

Sound quality is important...but I ono, the staff is stealing money (taking tips as they see fit) and making fraudulent charges on people's cards...

yeh, dont go to Webster's Hall and Pacha, only go to one offs at Roseland if you want to have a good time (plan your trip around this place if you plan on going to NYC for a party), or if you want to have a safe underground feel then Love is bad ass.
Poplife
BLASPHEMY...have you been to PACHA...your telling me opera is better than a club that has been voted best club in the WORLD 2 years in a row??? please make sense to me!
iammesol
And we conveniently leave out Cielo and The Bunker? :p
enydo
I haven't even been to a club in NYC but I'd be willing to be The Bunker and Cielo own Pacha so hard.

guidos.

Pacha of NYC was voted best club 2 years in a row?

Wow.

I wouldn't call waiting 45 minutes for a water bottle, 45 minutes to go pee, and being groped by security and charged $13 a drink a good club.

Megaclubs != good clubs.

Smaller, intimate settings are far more entertaining and enjoyable.

Every once in a while going to some huge show at a megaclub would be fun, going out to those kinds of places all the time... no thank you.

Scottaculous
Sounds like a typical night at any super club. As I got older my tolerance for overcrowded, poorly ventilated, expensive, and rude clubs has become nonexistent. Expect the same to happen in Club Space in Miami or anywhere. It's not a NYC thing. I guess people need to be ed up to put up with that crap. Tbh, the NYC club scene died when Twilo became Spirit, Limelight became Avalon, and Sound Factory became Pacha in the early 2000s.

The only time I've ever had fun at a superclub like Space Miami or Opera was when I didn't deal with the staff. Yes, I had the time of my life on the Terrace for Prydz sober as a bird.
