Well they have a point though. The authorities thought that CZ was being run by drug dealers and gangsters (nothing could be farther from the truth), and they thought the original raid would prove that. That’s why they confiscated computers and cash from the business, hoping to prove this and shut them down.
When it turned out that this wasn't the case, they decided to still try and shut them down. They turned to other licensing agencies to do surprise inspections (I think that’s harassment, unless these agencies can prove they do this to other businesses all at once as well). The police harassed people when they were leaving CZ and walking to their car, stopping them and searching them with no probable cause (harassment and highly illegal).
The fact that all these tactics failed is a big embarrassment to the authorities. It proved that, although there were people going to CZ with drugs, the actual club was running a completely legit business.
Not only that, the club STILL took steps to beef up security and ban certain bad characters. They also made a public offer to work with the authorities to address any concerns.
They have a case I think from a legal stand point. If you don't CZ then that's fine, but you still have expect the authorites to follow the letter of the law... |

Yeah, thats a great point. Police use maps posted on line to conduct raids.....they have stopped all undercover work since this method is much prefered.
If fact, I heard they were waiting years for one to surface online...

I like this place and the staff is very good at what they do ... I believe. I remember being at coat check and a girl had a vile in her hand. The bouncer questioned her on it and did his job (not sure if she was kicked out).
If they do win a settlement they shouldn't change a thing...maybe just pay their staff more $ |

im pretty sure the city officials would've been able to access every building's blueprint without kotsy's assistance. |

Again, that entire area is ed up. Looney bin on one corner, half way house on the other, uni down the road, china town to the south. I swear, craziest corner in the city for multiple reasons.

have i been to cz? lol of course i have.
there was a period in my life when i was there almost every sunday morning for a while. i had my fun there and i can definitely see why it appeals to so many people -- the djs bring their a-game when playing there. definitely the best venue in the city if you want to hear the best EDM and get your groove on.
