dude i have nothing to prove to you. you got a hate on cause i make a good living. i think your the one who should be crying. I don't have to justify my living or that of my co-workers. we get paid what we do because anyone who knows anything about transit knows that we deserve it. I don't know what you do for a living and I don't care. But I certainly wouldn't give slack to someone on the internet because they are defending their means of making a decent living. I'm going back to work now, to my so-called overpaying job. I certainly hope the next time you decide to open your mouth you think about what you say before you say it because quite frankly all you have proven today is that you are incredibly short sighted and angry. |

and im sure if some cashier at the LCBO was making $117,000+/yr, regardless of overtime, people would have a problem with that as well lol
I don't think that anyone is arguing that bus drivers/collectors don't have the right to make a decent living, of course they do, they provide a valuable and essential service to society. However, making well over a hundred grand to collect change and follow a route (yes yes if you don't pay attention people's well-being is at risk blah blah blah, same with the McDonalds guy making your burger, or the construction guy fixing an overpass @ $13/hr) will just always seem alarming to me. |

Hey retard! Have you ever bothered going outside of Canada and seeing how other, more competent transportation systems are run? Drivers are boxed off for the simple fact that their job is to drive the damn bus, not to be a ing hostess to the passengers (which they would fail at miserably to begin with, because so many of them seem to be so miserable). Box them off and people will begin to ignore them.
As for them being piss poor drivers, let's see: step on gas pedal to accelerate. Gently step on the brake's to stop. It's not ing rocket science. Yet the drivers for the TTC here (streetcar or bus) drive like this: step on gas pedal until desired speed is reached; let go....hit gas pedal again...let go...hit gas pedal again...let go. When they pull up to make a right hand turn its the same thing. They don't go up to the intersection smoothly but in a jerking motion. I'm sorry but if your job is to drive and that's how you drive then you're retarded. It's not difficult: stick to 1 lane, pay attention to whats going on around you and stop at the required stops. GO, Greyhound or Coach Canada drivers are at more risk than the guys at TTC simply because they make much longer trips and at way higher speeds. |

If your means of income is funded publicly via our tax dollars then it is a public concern.
