Highlights are the single The Loneliness. Song For Isabelle is awesome. The Beauty is nice as well. I like some of the textures he used.
As a producer I definately liked it, in a club atmosphere i'd probably like it as well. Some of his ideas/style remind me of some things I like to do, definately some mindshare here. He has a good concept of what a bassline's purpose is and how to make them musical, and it shows in this album.
Great album overall. 4.2/5 |

| Lots of great club tracks, but a little repetitive. Really loving The Loneliness, The Beauty and Sleep On. |

:stongue: Did you actually listen to it? Lets be real, how did it put you to sleep? Its full of detail and interesting arrangements yet manages to be music that could work in a club. Aren't you a 140bPM unicorn trancer, so I guess I could imagine why 120-126 bpm techno/deep house would be boring. :clown:
I think this album will be a strong grower with people. Just give it some time ;) |

Yah? I guess im listening to it at a different resolution, and I see the nuances in each individual track. They might sound similar, but they are each different through nuance and arrangement, and I think that is as important as making tracks that are vastly different to eachother.
Maybe If I skimmed through the album, it would all sound the same, but if you actually listen to the individual tracks, there is plenty to enjoy here. And if he did a basket of tracks that sound different, then the next gripe would be, "buh buh buh its all over the place, there is no direction." Which is why reviews are ridiculous here and at websites like RA. Much of the opinions are politics and bias based, more than anything, and when that happens objectivity is thrown out the window. Recently, some here liked a very repetitive album, and actually made it out to be something great. I'm not saying this album is brilliant, at all, but it is above average to any producer or at a club, i'd imagine. At a "skimming" resolution I acknowledge it might be average, but I don't think that is Stimming's fault, if the listener isn't actually listening to the music. |
