I thought there was supposed to be a big EAW system makeover?

I guess that ain't happening. I was gonna go to this, but something came up. Too bad, as I think a lot of you would of had a much better time had there been a proper soundcheck and the such.

its funny that people are still shocked at the bad sound quality at circus. This has been a recurring problem for years, a free drink and a parking pass are not going to change that:conf: :conf:

Ugh!!! What a night to forget my earplugs. Seriously awful. Although I think Gerard's set sounded loud but still ok. Circus needs to fire their sound guy. Every room was way to loud and sounded bad. My last 3 trips to Circus have been the worse sounding it has ever been in the 9 years I have been going. Hire Robert Stern or someone else please. I love you Circus but this really needs to be addressed.

When Jaren was singing, I went to call on for some help but was told there was nothing they could do about the mic also that there wasn't anyone doing the sound check. Now IMO, having Jaren go through that was just awful and I felt bad for her, in fact I was ambarrassed by how things sounded, NOT good!

I hope LOC or someone else from CIRCUS is reading this. Come on guys, do the right thing! Not by giving away money each weekend but by getting things up to par! :whip:

Josh,
Saturday was a entirely new level of bad sound lol. I honestly don't think I have ever heard sound that bad in a club. I have rarely commented on the sound at Circus in the past.

Embarrassed is how I felt too and I had nothing to do with it.

i was on the floor before i went on and the highs were already up. I even had a difficult time hearing in the booth.

i already turned down the gains so it wouldn't hit red.

I hope this doesn't repeat this Saturday. It will be a major bummer.

+1

Last time Rank 1 was at Circus, the sound was really good so we can only hope.

I have to wonder if this is something the DJ has control over then, or if it's something to do with the offstage sound setup, or both? Strange how some DJ's seem to get right, but not others.

Someone who can make a difference from Circus must read this. If not, I will print these messages and send them over certified mail with return receipt.

The failure to control a sound system that is clearly harmful to hearing even after the use of earplugs can permanently damage clubgoers' hearing. Something must be done, and soon. I'm seriously evaluating whether to give up otherwise good times at Circus so that I can continue hearing things in the future. This is not something that any clubgoer should be concerned about...it turns an otherwise fun experience into nothing short of a nightmare that never goes away.

I agree with GPC that the loudness issue has gotten 10x worse recently, I think from about the time Matt Darey spun in February. That's when I noticed the new double array of speakers hanging from the ceiling, and I've read numerous comments that the sound system has been way too loud since then.

Some kind of response from management would be helpful, direct or relayed thru one of our well-respected TA promoters. If anyone other TA's have something to say, speak up, this is your opportunity to help others and keep Circus a great place to go out, have fun and listen to quality music that we love!

FYI... I've sent an email to management regarding the issue and about this thread.

good job Trin, let them read this.

that needs to be fixed. its downright disrespectful to the artist/s. she's gona go the agency and complain then the agency gets upset making it harder to book talent at the venue.

this is something that EVERYONE has been complaining about for years now.

fix the sound and lighting. remodel, renovate. do something. we've all said this each week for years now.

a sound technician will only go so far. he can't turn into gold
yojirave04
they need to move the dj booth back to where it was. The sound issues of being to loud will go away
