Apologies on advance for going off topic but....
Who said 10 or 15 year olds. These groups are into children from newborns up. I don't care what your anatomical reasons are, there is no argument for this, and therefore free speech should have it's limits as in this situation it is encouraged and protected.
As for 15 and a 38 year old - at 15 you're legally a minor and not able to enter a contract, make decisions as an adult (in the eyes of law) or in many cases know the real difference between right and wrong (legally). These laws are based on hundereds of years of psycological analysis and thousands of court tested cases so I'm not going to argue with them and you can't either. This isn't subjective - a 14 year old has a far less formed grasp of right vs wrong and ability to make decisions than a 18 year old. You might not agree but it's proven, true and it's law. period.
The 38 year old knows exactly what they're doing and it's not right, legally or morally, because of those reasons.
18 years old is considered a mental age that decisions can be made as an adult for those same inverse reasons as above and due to the way we are all educated and progress through life. In many legal cases anyone under the age of 16 who commits a crime has to be evaluated to see if they knew they were doing something wrong and in many cases they do not or at least the responsibilty is heavily diminished.
And that again is exactly why freespeech should never danger or damage anyone.

But how does the ones giving children tests on what is "right or wrong"..know what is right or wrong themselves? Its not based on anything. Morality, right and wrong, in the world, for the most part is not based on anything. Many people use religion as the basis for right and wrong, other than that, no other system comes close, everything else is just the personal opinions of the elite few who make the laws and social constructs for the rest of the people to follow.
18 laws are arbitrary.
Still all of that assumes children these days are brought up correctly, which they aren't. So because your average kid at age 16 doesn't know right from wrong, does mean that is the status of children all over the world. In fact, of the few families I know, almost all thew children have a grasp of rhetoric and logic before they even get to middle school, and all of them certainly no what sex is and the consequences of having intercourse without being ready. And to even get more statistical, all of them are either from African [not African America...African] or Middle Eastern race. Which, according to some analysts should be the other way around. Because they come from areas of the world considered "third world" or in a place of "religious majority"

Sorry to all of you but I must admit I did this on purpose to prove a point that is very fitting to this thread:
I chose a subject, completely offtopic, that you can't sanely defend (the molestation of children), took a stance on it and waited for the bait to be taken and how far it would go.
This time we only got a page out of it, so maybe there's some progress?
My point is this stuff shouldn't happen in the production forum, and threads need to be kept OT to be real value in the forum they're meant for.
I hope we get some mods soon.
No offense meant, but as you can see I have no desire to discuss your views on this subject. |

i don't see one. The problem is that to enact such a law, you basically have to be able to distinguish what is and what isn't ok to say. These decisions are left to the governing body and they usually don't have a great track records.
People should be free not to like certain people. They should be allowed to talk all the lame they want just like every major religion. The bible (mostly old testament) has been the source of so much hate even present today yet nobody seems to care. Why do people have such an issue now with this particular group of similarly dumb people. That is another issue onto itself but I think it should be at least an indication of how ridiculous regulating free speech in the goal for universal harmony is.
And the worst part is that people defend this serious error in logic with the "for the good of the people" bs. Pretty sure both Stalin and Hitler used that beautiful slogan more than once.
So yes, I have a really big quam with the sort of laws that infringe on anyone's right to free speech. |

Admittedly close minded. At least someone from the EU has the balls to say it. Instead of acting like everyone's view is acceptable, which they do. Even though it isn't the case. This 'progressive modernism' movement, is just like any other movement, they want their version of history, morality, and logic to be accepted and no one elses. Only until now, they are the first to claim a universal openness and acceptance. At least every other movement out there admitted they want to destroy someone elses views or goals. |

No, not closed minded at all (remember YOU called "us" the "elightened ones" ;) ), I just think your views are so off kilter to me, that I feel it would be a monumental waste of my time. Talking to you on social, behavioral or political views is like chasing mercury; the moment you get close it changes shape size and direction, and it can't help it either.
You want to discuss production techniques, fine - please contribute, but I have no interest in your particular personal beliefs, hence one of many reasons I would like to see mods here. |

I agree with the OP and was getting more and more concerned about this myself.
This entire forum is plagued with attitudes and egotistical "I need to always be right" minded people.
I'm a member at 2 other forums (both have mods) and when I come here there is SO MUCH ing negativity, ALWAYS an arguement/flaming going down.
NOT TO MENTION the fact that theres prob a handful of people who should have been banned a long time ago. But because they haven't, (I'm not saying I'm perfect but I'm nothing compared to some I see on these boards) the majority of information is not actually information at all, but people taking out their personal life on random strangers they really don't know.
Crono and diginut could be bestfriends if they met in real life, but because its on a forum w/out a mod they forget they actually love each other..
