Seriously.
Listen to yourself crono - in spite of blaming everybody but yourself, you've managed to derail even this thread without any help from others. Obviously, everybody's opinion matters when it comes to subjects like this, but you said your piece already, and said it again, and again and again... we heard you the first time, and you need to learn when it's time to shut up.
For the record, Floorfiller asked where else the "nominees" are on this site - I've obviously spent plenty of time in the Toronto forum, and was semi-active in the Political forum back in the day, before I realized that it would be less of a headache trying to recruit lemurs into the Church of Scientology than it was trying to make a point in there. I guess you could count the producer promotion forum too a while back but that's kind of dead now and that was just on-and-off anyway.
Also for the record, I don't believe in bans unless somebody is repeatedly breaking forum rules (spam, illegal content, etc.). So don't you worry crono, even though I would absolutely kick you straight in the nuts given the opportunity, I would not be so petty as to deal out suspensions to members simply for being royal douchebags, even if I did have the option. I don't believe in sugar-coating or totalitarianism.
Anyway, that's all I'm going to say, don't want to get sucked into a campaign here. I'm not being modest or overt, I just think it would be prudent to get some sort of tacit approval for the idea before arguing about who would, or would not be a good choice. |

This thread was derailed? Everything Ive mentioned was on topic. This is a thread about mods in which everyone changed the subject to 'dealing with people'. You sure have an odd view on what derailing is. Even more so, 'dealing with people' is on topic because its the number one trait a mod needs to be a mod. It seems to me that if the thread doesn't have 15 people saying the exact thing then its been "derailed". Is that what you think? I'm trying to understand your incoherent posts...
In my time on this forum, Ive only seen a thread I was involved in go off topic once.
So I don't know where you get the idea that things go off topic when I enter a thread. If disagreeing with someone is off topic, then sure, I must go off topic in every thread.
This is genuinely yet another instance where you, Diginut, completely fabricate random things for pretty much no apparent reason.
I'm must be ing blind, I don't see any of these derails or flame wars people talk about. Even that linux thread wasn't a flame war, nor was the thread derailed. |

FYI , you're never going to get a mod that everyone likes. Ever. Never ever, so stop trying to find a God damn ideal person. They don't exist.
Find someone who can and is willing to do what needs to be done and yet let the forum flow naturally. It's not an amazingly difficult job to be honest. You log on, check the forum and skim the threads and you're done. As a mod you begin to learn how to quickly read threads and do anything if it needs to be done.
And yet you guys start another 3 page thread on who should and shouldn't be one and why :rolleyes:
Oh and another FYI, the mod in question doesn't need to be a walking EDM production bible ffs. They just need to mod, that's all. |

Yeah, like I said its nothing personal, just my opinion that you should be around at least as long as most other members on the forum I guess. You are still one of the newer members, despite your good contributions. I do vaguely remember having an argument with you about something a while ago, but generally I've thought your posts are helpful (if not new to me like RANN or Eric's) I think that your clearly someone who's gone out of their way to help, which is admirable.
I actually think it matters less about production ability/knowledge too. We really just need someone to boot the newbies, spam, and general irritants out and keep threads on topic.
I'd also support Acton or Jivebojangles, but neither of them are around as much as RANN or Subtle I suspect? Maybe its just me... |
