What are you quoting me on and the past couple of posts have gone on a tangent with mr jivebojingles as we are talking about predicted evolution of humans. |

well asians are also disproportionately asians relative to the rest of the human species.
We have successful people of all races and phenotypes and even those that are not successful are helped economically thruogh plans (disabled and the less fortunate etc)
so selection pressure is reduced even more with an increased gene flow making evolution less probably.
I am obvioulsy thinking in terms of our situation in the past several hundred years or so and if it continues at this pace in a social civil manner.
Who knows how the world is going to be in 2000 years or less. At this piont we may be able to isolate Coding DNA, what proteins it codes for and what they all do. Who would need evolution at this point? Presumably something similar to gattaca.
OR we can go into a worse state and head towards our primal routes (tribes and geographic isolation) and let "natural" selection take its course. The animal way of evolution. |

there is no direction or environmental selection pressure except for maybe intelligence. Intelligence for the most part is learned through a young age and thus there is no clear genetic factor. Selection is based on genetics and certain traits need to be eliminated for others to thrive. |

It takes 2 to tango and reproduce. People that are disabled can lead lives and raise kids with their potentially non disabled partners. There are also different levels of disability and retardation, how would you make the classification? No blacks on the bus? People who are diabled or mentally retarted, especialy those who are autistic or with down syndrome, can sense when they are singled out and their rights are violated for a prejudice against their being.
Tubular bills just got out of AA, would you steralize him too? People can recover and change.
The next step would be to say african americans are the poorest statistically so we should steralize them.
Or asians are bad drivers, lets steralize them to build safer transit.
Or people of semetic origin (arabs and jews) are hot headed and irrational, lets steralize them too lol.
Rights are rights and human beings should not be ostracized based on their status or genetics.
Its plain and simple. This is what should distinguish us from animals. Evolution through selection stops at us. |

IMHO its a sticky situation. on the one hand if you do something like this, who gets to decide who's to be sterilized and who isn't? today it could be the homeless or the sick, tomorrow it could be people of a certain race/ethnicity/religious affiliation...
on the other i dont think that the current population growth rate is sustainable and something must be done to bring the world's population under control...

How are you saying my comments are analgous to religious idiots when simply you want people to be segregated and treated as herded catle and strip them away of their biological purpose lol.
I think my comments are logical. I think you are trying to simplify things way to much and are looking to a quick solution. Since we live in civil society an issue like this needs to be looked after carefully.
IF a woman gets raped she always has the option of an abortion. A man who has sex with a mentally disabled woman should know to use protection and should be held responsible if anything would happen as she may not be fit to make logical descisions (regarding pregnancy). Usually people in this state are looked after by someone and are not left on the street to wander or whatever. Sterilizing them without their conscent is inhuman and a severe violation of human rights. How would you presume a government would carry out mass sterilization?
If anything i think you are acting like a religious idiot by proclaiming such a crude solution to problems that can be solved in more humane manners. "she's a witch! burn her at the stake"
