Seriously, though... that's true.
But there still is a slight case of "elitism" on these boards. It's a common thing to happen and it's rather small here at the moment... so I'm not too concerned... |

I hate to get in the middle of a potential flame war, but flystyler, why do you keep saying that davinox has been here for only 2 weeks? he has been here just as long as drizzt, and only a few months shorter than you.
Second, why does how long he's been here matter? Ive been here less time than he has. How long do I have to be a member before I can express something I think is unfair?
I really hope that it doesnt sound like I am personally attacking you, (by no means is that my intention) and I am not aware of any previous "engagements" the two of you have had.
And I am definitely positive that davinox could have been a bit more polite about phrasing what he said, but the point he makes still remains. |

| I agree with the mods that this site would be total chaos if there wasn't any rules, but it is un-deniable that certain ppl on this board (mentioning no names) get too much attention and are made out to be gods just cuz they uploaded the latest pvd set. So what? that doesn't make you better than than anyone? It also really annnoys me when somebody takes it into their own hands to decide what's spam and what's not. then they start writing stuff like "OMG...swamper please shut down this thread" like they are some kinda high-up appointed mod who can decide what is acceptable becuase they've been on the board a really really long time...and they met up with swamper to see tiesto last night...and they got like 902382 GBs more mp3s than anyone else! . But they can't delete it themselves, only the mods can do that so let them decide. We're all equal here:) :) |

I'll tell you what, alot of people on here are becomming a bunch of ungreatful loud mouth s! now im gona get abuse now coz mods shouldnt flame, well sod it! me and all the other mods are getting very pissed off with ur attidude and ungreatfulness!
Without us this site would turn to , take this, the police, no1 likes the police, why? because they stop people do what they wana do! BUT if u stop and think about it, stopping speeders is good, or you'll cross the road and get hit by a 100 mile/hr car, you'll be at work and people will come in and rob ur shop, total world chaos!
this is the same (waits for "bit of an exagreation") because if we didnt stop spammers, didnt stop massive page size sigs, didnt stop people shouting " HAHAAH ", didnt stop flamers, this forum would turn into an absolute mess!!
You people should be greatful, while ur all sitting there doing whatever, we try and keep clean YOUR forums, and all we get is abuse!
What members have been doing, esp transtream/seventh city, he provided millions of tunes, but VIOILATED THE RULES THAT KEEP THESE FORUMS FROM FUNCTIONING, no1 had a chance with that guy in there, so, he was ASKED, SEVERAL TIMES and POLITLY to make them all in ONE thread, and on SEVERAL TIMES REFUSED!!! Swamper sent pm's and he replied with "but its fun, makes me feel like batman"! and then he gets banned and massive revolt against us!
If we are wankers as alot of you are saying, how about we all stop? how about that? forum full of spammers, full of swears, full of arses, let the forums turn to rubbish, how you all like that?
We spent our time fixing these forums and we are getting sick of all of you being so ungreatful turning around and slagging us off! you're all moaning about the sig stuff? would you want sigs that cover ur whole screen? no, but when we set a limit, you all moan about us editing sigs!
We cant win and quite frankly we're all getting so sick of it. |

Ok guys, time for my opinion.
I've been a member on this site for a bit and I haven't done anything wrong. What I'm about to say right now may get me into trouble, but really, I don't care.
Davinox is completely right. (BTW, Davinox and I have gotten into large debates before with opposite views... so I'm not siding with him just for the sake of it).
Anyways, the elitist attitude on this site is disgusting. At least it disgusts me. I have better things to do than read a certain TA's post about what new PvD vinyl he got or what colour Paul's underwear is. Yet everytime this certain TA posts a thread he gets a million responses about how thankful everyone is for that info when really, its the most useless bull i've ever heard in my life. I like PvD, don't think I don't. Politics of dancing is one of my favorite cd's. He's a decent dj and a decent producer. But really, there's more to life than Paul and following him around.
I don't think ppl are making a big deal out of something stupid. This "attitude" by some of the mods is bothering me, and, let me reiterate, I've never done anything wrong.
With some of these huge posts about how important it is for you to delete someone's sig because it's one pixel too wide, I've gotten the feeling that these mods think they are really important. Yup, you guys... wow, you make the world a better place. I can't imagine what life would be like without you. Your contribution to society... yeah, I'll shut up now.
I'm glad that you guys arrived at the point readily... you do police work. Policing, plain and simple. We're not talking anything of CIA or FBI caliber... we're talking handing out traffic tickets. Not that there's anything wrong with that... yeah, we need order around here. But the problem arises from the fact that I seem to be getting the impression that instead of making things better, the mods are intruding and abusing their powers.
Really, we don't need any moderating of this type. It's the police that seem to be corrupt, not the ordinary citizens. We don't need you to "keep order"... we're more responsible and can perfectly take care of these issues by ourselves.
Sorry if any of this seemed offensive, it's just my opinion.
And please don't delete this thread, don't be so immature... let's talk this through. |
