I love TA....did I mention that? I haven't been here long, but I like the people I have met so far.

What a bolloxious thread :p Funny to see that the ppl that are on the bottom list are also the ppl that post stupid threads, get into flamewars, can't take any criticism and don't recognize a joke even if it smax them on the heads :)

TA mods: I lub all of you...and that was WAY before any of u were mods :) See I've been here longer than most of you and I met these mods way before you did...which means...way before they became mods :)

All I will say to those of you bitching is : Go try to start a new board, without any mods, and see how long it lasts :rolleyes: You'll see how quickly the place fills up with spammers and losers.
Its the same on any board without moderation, no matter what the subject matter is : everyone's getting along fine, its starting to get a bit successful, it starts to get known and HELLO all of a sudden there's a bunch of new people turning up, not interested in being part of the community, trying to hijack your board to push their own agendas. The regular users start flaming them, one or two s start spamming and mass posting the boards to promote their case, personal abuse and flame wars take up most of the server space. Before long a few porn merchants or religious nuts turn up and start putting in their 0.02 worth, the whole sense of community in your website that you've worked so hard to create is pretty much destroyed overnight, everybody gets pissed off and goes elsewhere. The internet is so big now, I've seen this whole cycle happen to popular websites and totally destroy them in a matter of weeks.
Oh yeah and another thing, I like the sig moderation, it might be fine for those of you who aren't on 56K but those huge lists of 'my top 1,000,000 trance tunes' and massive massive animated GIFs just used to piss me right off, particularly when the same guy's posted multiple times in one page.
This place is incredibly lightly moderated compared to some, you don't know how lucky you all are, the mods on here strike me as a particularly level headed and laid back bunch of dudes. And no I'm not trying to suck up to anyone, I've been a mod on another big (non trance related) site and its not an experience I'd care to repeat to be honest.
It's all about having the teeniest tiniest littlest bit of respect for other users instead of just 'me me me' 24/7. Those of you who can't handle it, and just launch flame world war 3 against the mods when you don't get everything your own way, you bloody deserve to be moderated and/or banned, and good riddance to ya :tongue2 |

I dont know if anyone has told u this b4, but those red colors - besides being hard to read - and kinda lame - are ANNOYING. So make us a favour and start using "royal blue" or something less colourfull.

OK...the list is a joke that is only semi-true.
The list was just to stir up.
But my motives are just to bring credit to people that they deserve. Fox, you are geniunely a nice guy, but i'm just mad at the system. you are much better tempered then many people, including me.
obviously we can't all get along, because what is wrong and what is right in these boards is twisted around so much. i wouldn't make this rant if i didn't want things to change.
And this isn't about me, no, i don't give a what you guys think about me, I'm just trying to help some people out.
I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST MODERATING!!!!! I have been on other boards before, one I was maybe the biggest and most respected person there (ask halo99 or Magimeister) and i know first hand how difficult moderating is. But at least in that forums the top dogs got reprimanded. Mods could and did get banned, hell, I got suspended.
That's why it was fair.
The only people on the list that deserve it know who they are. Some were just a joke (Miss Proximus I have nothing against you, same with DT and a few others)
StarFox you are a nice guy. It's not you, it's other people and the system.
The moderators on a whole do a good job. there are moderators beyond tu_face, coup and Wicked Neo, suprisingly. things are moved around, closed when needed, everything great.
What i'm bitching about is a community issue where people who aren't in the innercircle don't get the correct respect.
