Soccer (always gets people angry)
Anything involving Counter-Strike (12 y/o kids realising that they don't get in trouble for swearing do it like there's no tomorrow)

OK, I think this is really the crux of the matter - needing appreciation, respect, love, reckognition etc. I think this is a natural need that manifests itself here. We can observe it in the behaviour of small children (hint, hint) when they have been deprived of some of it for too long time. I, like any other, would love to have some of it, but by analysing ones situation you can get rid of this craving, at least to a certain degree. Consider this:
- Why do you object to some people on TA being "popular"?
- Would respect from a bunch of people in the far reaches of the world, you might never see, make you any happier?
- Do you get respect from your immediate surroundings?
- And why do you need more?
- Assume everybody on these boards was kissing your ass and praising you all the time - where next?
- Do you respect the people you envy?
- Do you visit TA.com in order to get respect, or are there another (more dominant) reason?
- Is bitching about these matters and leaving going to make your life any better?
- etc.
I think, unless you are a sad person with 0 friends, you will come to the conclusion that you come here for the discussions and the info. Comming for the sense of belonging is, in my view, a dead end street.
Now, having said this, I'll hasten to add that some people on here are becomming a soothing part of my life, through their opinions and behaviour, and *they* certainly have my respect (and I hope some of them respect me - though this is not essential to my further being here).
I'll give you that some "popular" people on these boards, act in a bad manner sometimes, and do apparently neglect to consider the consequences of their postings. But...so what? Let them. I couldn't care less what somebody think of me, if I deem him/her an myself.
Sorry, if I'm comming off as a bad shrink here, but I just thought that the discussion in this thread could use some input that was meant to be constructive. |

Hmmmmmm. All i see is people arguing. This is a discussion forum.
There was a time where this forum had no flaming at all for a good 3 month spell, and funnily enough there was a very good reason why, because people could get on.
There were no members who thought they would try and attract attention with flaming, and members in general were helpful, and had a laugh.
In my opinion that list shows the 5 people who cause a lot of the problems on this forum, and an alliance like that wont last very long.
I feel sorry for a memebe rlike Imik, he has seemed to have been dragged down by other members.
Now this could go on for days and days, and has already gone round in circles.
I am here to try and help people, and i could give u thousands of people i have helped, in many ways. I dont feel i am above anyone else.
And i am now in that list because i feel that davinox is only on this forum to cause trouble.
If he was a mod, and a very highly regarded member of a forum why didnt he stay there. Probably because he showed the same kind of attitude he has here.
I dont know why we cant all get on, without these flame wars.
We mannage it in the uk forum. So why not here.
My view on certain people is very well known. But i dont make a stupid little list, that is just childish.
I cant be bothered to reply to endless flames against me. If you want to study my past on the forum you would find it very ahrd to find flames. I dont like flaming, and personally i would lvoe to be liked by everyone.
But some people dislike others who are more popular, or in a higher position to them, that is just a fact of life, people get jealous.
As far as i can see this thread was started to stir up tension, as davinox even said ina post. He started a thread, and a list to stir up tension.
if a member is only here to do that, why is he here??????
I just dont understand some members at all.
Now cant we get back to the good times before davinox.
Oh and as you will know gouryella has been banned for 2 weeks, so hopefully he will learn his lesson.
It seems that a few ruin things for many.
It is a real shame

I went and saw lab4, tiesto, pvd, armin van buuren, picotto, jules, fergie, talla, scott bond, rob tissera aka wicked neo :p (jk), and many more.
Top night had by all.
And im sure there r still cybers wondering the northampton countryside.
Crap transport arrangements.
Bring on global gathering :)
Gatecrasher first monthly next week - with armin, ferry, jules, mauro piu, john 00 fleming,etc etc.
