Just got back from the new spot and I have a few thoughts...
The last spot was much nicer
It is basically in a bush and extremely weedy..the paths leading to the area are narrow and dark...make sure you have a flashlight.
Bugs galore and I can only imagine how bad it would get after dark...
Far off the beaten path and potentially unsafe..especially for females..please don't go pee without at least two people with you..there are many small pathways that almost like walking in a jungle..
Did not see any washrooms..everyone and their mother were pissing and ting in the bushes all around..so watch where you step
The sketchiest crowd I have ever seen...I don't usually judge people like this and have said in previous threads that the cherry beach crowd is not sketchy..
Lots of messed up young thugs who look like they are ready to pounce..the vibe was extremely weird
I heard a guy talking about a huge brawl with about 30 guys that just took place..he said "every man was for himself" I think there will be much more trouble at this location
I am going to seriously miss the old spot and don't plan on returning to this new one..but to each his own..this is just my opinion |

Ok, so how did you get there? I rode in from Oakville, rode down Cherry st. Saw a beach, looked around, didnt see anything, rode around the area and asked a few "Club'ish" looking poeple but they knew nothing, and one them was high off his mind on shrroms. So I went into town and had a few pints. |

we went south on leslie off of the lakeshore and parked at the end of the street..proceeded to walk south on a bike trail for about 10 minutes and realized that we were slightly east of there we needed to be..we proceeded to cut through paths and roads, the whole time letting the music be our compass...more paths..walked down some curved road...saw a bunch of people who pointed us in the right direction...the paths now got thicker and denser.started seeing a spattering of sketchy peeps in the bushes and voila, we parted the leaves and stepped into sketchville..
on the way back we realized that if we had just hung a right at the end of leslie and walked west, we would have saved half an hour..lol.. |

| Had an enjoyable experience this time around. What a mission it was to get there though from the opposite side. :stongue: |

I rode my bike, so it didn't seem that much further - and when I had to go to the bathroom, I biked to the Wendy's at Lakeshore and Leslie - about 5mins. Of course the cherry beach washrooms are locked because of the strike.
I haven't stayed til late at Cherry in years, and observations: 1/ much bigger 2/ much sketchier 3/ who cares? It was a rave - just every type of crowd, ravers, thugs, gays, hippies - I thought it was awesome. And the music was fantastic - nice techy house. Sound system packed a punch too. Security was non-imposing.
By next weekend the weeds will be trampled and it will just be a spot in the grass by the water. I will definitely be back more this summer! |

Indeed. It was fun. The walk was long when we go to the wrong spot... lol... I'd go back again as well if given the opportunity.... |

You know, I actually really disliked it being right on the beach - so I'm not that against the change of location.
I didn't make it out this weekend, but curious to see how it plays out next weekend if I decide to make it down.
Question though - can you hear the music from the paths at all? I did bike past CB at around 4:30 or so the other day - was on the tail end of a massive bike ride and was along the bike paths at CB.
I had kept my ears open for the thumpathumpa and debated popping in briefly to relax before heading home - but didn't hear anything and was too tired to bother trying to search the bushes for the party. |

Well, that's a shame IMO.
There's something about jammin' in the sand, listening to beats, looking out onto the water that made these parties magical.
I don't like the fact it's not accessible by car as I don't have a bike.
At least it's still an outdoor party, and at least the organizers have made attempts to at least keep the parties happening somewhere. I'll check it out, see how I like it. |
