Time will tell... Alexx G your theory does make sense, however, when people pay that kind of money they want to see an international DJ behind the decks... not a local. People may be disappointed to pay that and to see Grondon behind the decks. They may not even return and it's this that should worry Stereo, people not coming back.
Either way, I'll make an appearance one of these nights. Definitely not on the Sharam night tho LOL. |
I agree. Also by doing this, you kinda limit your tourism. I don't think Stereo was that big on tourism, but on Morales, Calderone, Tenaglia, Chus and Ceballos nights, etc you'd get at least 20-30 people heading up from New York, Ottawa, Toronto, etc to check out those big events.
I'm glad Montreal has Stereo back though. Afterhours is a dying scene in the world. |

Hmmmm...
The "STEREO Saturday Secret DJ" huh? I just dunno...
I guess I'll just have to make a decision when that weekend comes up.

If they are going to be banking on the "Secret DJ" thing - their first sat should be a huge name to build a buzz behind the night and help reassure people it's going to be worth dropping the money for it in the future.
Doing the not-announcing the DJ and having it be a local on their first night doing that is a sure-fire way to sabotage the concept of the idea.
A local now and then - sure, but not on the first night. |

Off course I would prefer to know who is booked for the saturday but does it really matter?? (((Stereo))) is back and that's what is counting!!
No matter who is playing, the place will be packed, the Vibe will be awsome! I can't wait to put my feets on that dance floor again!!!!!
I am also curious to see what they done with the old Stereobar room... So many good memories at that place! |

It would be cool but I doubt since he is at Red-Lite on august 21st... But maybe...
Again, there is James Holden that will be at Piknic during the day/night... Maybe him along with someone else......?? |

hmmmm.
Not sure about you guys but I like to know a bit about the music beats before I decide to drop money. Patrons have to trust that Stereo will book someone who will bring ppl back to future secret Saturdays but generating business won't be a problem..... in the beginning, anyways. I'll probably be at Dirty Sanchez on the Sunday.
The concept seems both interesting and risky. |
