The japanese version of The Ring. I was I think 10 when I watched that. I was scared to go into dark bathrooms alone and me and my friend would scream out "Samara!" in my house when we passed by the bathroom.

Also, in my old school, people used to play jokes on other people by trapping them in bathrooms, locking the door and shutting off the lights. People rumored that if you would say 'Bloody Mary' 3 times that she would appear at the reflection of the mirror or something. That scared the out of me.

Eraserhead.

I don't find most typical modern gore-fest horror all that scary.

One of the few films that genuinely made me jump out of my seat was The Thing. It's a masterpiece of horror cinema because John Carpenter creates this incredible tension throughout the film, and yet the shock moments never come when the characters are alone, investigating a darkened corridor. They come when you're least expecting it.

Yeah, The Thing is great.

i don't love horror movies as much as i did growing up, but i still like to watch them from time to time and yes, i'm all cuddled up on the couch with a pillow covering my eyes during the parts where i know something nuts is about to happen lol

Bam! I don't know why too, but I saw Signs in the theater when it first came out and it really freaked me out... especially when they were watching that news clip from the kids birthday party in Brazil and you saw the thing for the first time, and when Mel Gibson went over to that house where it was locked in the room and he was trying to catch a glimpse from under the door. lol

Oh, and when I was little, Flatliners scared the out of me.

Signs freaked me out, lol. It seemed like such a real scenario. The ring was also a good one.

i liked the ring a LOT. at first, i thought it was going to be horribly cheesy, but yeah one of my favorites. i don't know if it scared the out of me; but was a great flick no less.

I didn't think The Ring was terribly scary, but I still like it a lot for the atmosphere and beautiful cinematography.
