how's the record box software? easy to integrate with itunes? |
It's "ok". It does integrate with iTunes, but it didn't like that my iTunes library was located on an external drive (the library MUST be in ~/Music/iTunes).
It's pretty basic, it operates much like the CDJ itself for setting up your cue and loops.
Unfortunately the analysis engine isn't multi-threaded, so it doesn't efficiently use my quad-core. |

Thanks Ryan. That sucks about the iTunes library having to be on the Machintosh HD... Hopefully that can be updated ASAP by Pioneer.

I guess if you have the library file in ~/Music/iTunes, but add your folder (on the external) it will work. I have a whole different library on the external.
I tried making a symlink to the external volume, but that didn't work either. |

If I have the 1000mk3's do you think it is worth the upgrade to the 2000's??? How is the beatgrid system?
I use cd's right now but was thinking of jumping ship to Traktor also what do you think? Thanks dude! |

Might want to hold off for a bit, BOTH of my CDJ-2000's are having different physical build issues. |

Well Traktor has a more accurate tempo display than the CDJ2000's and like Ryan mentioned, he's got a busted USB jack on one, and a "sandy" platter on the other. I'm definitely holding off for a little bit anyways. |

Oh thanks for the 411 man! Any other problems with them so far? So I should rather invest my money in Traktor for my Macbook Pro and keep my 1000mk3's correct? Thanks for the help super appreciated! |

Wow, that's terrible - What's this about a broken USB socket and sandy platter? |

On one of the decks, the USB port on the top probably has a bad solder joint or something. You plug in the drive and it won't show up, if you wiggle it a tad, it'll start flashing but never actually loads up.
On the other deck, the platter isn't quite as smooth. It feels a bit rough. It's working fine, but I'm not happy with less than perfect at this price point. |
