To be honest, I hadn't even noticed they'd done an S1200! So much focus is on the Pioneers...

Just had a look at the specs and it's very slightly larger than the S1000 (even though they claim it's their smallest!) but not enough to make any difference.

USB could be useful for just sticking hundreds of loops on, plus if you can save cue points on them (not that clear from the specs) - I'm always against these sorts of things (MP3 CDs etc) as you can never guarantee the club you play in will have the same facilities, so you end up having to take a wallet of normal CDs anyway, but when the whole point is it's a deck you're taking with you, you haven't got that problem!

Obviously the 1000 is cheaper, particularly seeing that it's been around for longer so you can pick one up for practically nothing 2nd hand, but yes I'll let you have that - it is a better deck ;)

Not sure if it'd be worth the extra cash for me though when I've got a mate would probably part with his 1000 for a very reasonable price.

I own a pair of 1200s and I really like them. I've never had a problem with a single mp3 or wav file .... ever. That's alot more then I can say about the Pioneer players. There have been plenty of times on the cdj-1000 when I was in the middle of a mix and the dumb thing frame-skipped on me and totally threw everything off.

And yes, you can save memo points, loops, and all that kinda good stuff.

so basically cdj2000 its a cd player with midi controller with few buttons, jog wheel, one fader, ability to connect external hard drive and mid map buttons in programs, oh and a needle jump(small touchpad). all of that for 1699 NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

sheman... whatever your name is... do some research and youll discover why it's priced the way it is

Pretty sweet if you ask me. But I will never eeeever pay that much for a cdj.

the 1000 is just the jog wheel and fader for $1,500 and plenty of people bought that

they look pretty cool but I'm thinking the majority of DJs have went DVS and probably aren't too interested in changing their habits just for a new cdj. That being said they'll still be widely adopted as soon as they start cropping up on riders. I don't think these will sell much outside the nightclub market, time will tell I guess.

that ribbon controller is ing cool as though, I wonder if it can do MIDI.

yeah boii, time for me to get 1000 MK3s. :)

I'd like to play around with a few... but I'm set on my MPB / Torq / Ableton setup... its perfect for me I don't want to change what already works great for me.
Tony Morello
if people didn't want to change what already worked we'd all still be playing vinyl

saturday night i played 3 shows off one thumb drive, granted i was using other people's serato setups, but the idea of going out for gigs and not having to worry about scratched cds or expensive laptops appeals to me

just a thumb drive and my headphones
