wouldn't you say rurik is the common link for east europeans? he came from scandanivia and established rus'. although eastern europeans don't really look scandanivian but i say that comes from rus' being oppressed by the mongols for a good 200 years...lots of mixing. serbians have turkish blood because of the ottomans. so maybe serbs and russians look similar because the serbs had their own darker skinned oppressors. |
