It's one of the leading theories yea, but there's no conclusive evidence.
Reading just quickly on Wikipedia, turns out they can use it as a guide for erectile dysnfunction. So in other words if you experience this regularly it generally means you don't have any erectile problems. Sweet.

When I was living in a shared house, the Morning Wood was a real problem, because I didn't want to walk across the landing to the bathroom and risk getting caught with a raging monster in a pair of boxer shorts totally inadequate for concealing it.
Generally, it softens up after a minute or two walking around, and I wait until it's a semi before tackling the pissing issue. |

it's not just the morning... it tends to happen often after I've been sleeping and wake up, even in the afternoon. the worst is on airplanes; I'll sleep on a plane and wake up when we land, then it's time to stand up and get my luggage out of the overhead carrier :eek:
