Enough already with the snide comments and little combacks..Have we not all spoken our minds already?
Lets just drop this..
better yet, delete this thread.
Everyone involved should def. be able to move on from this dead topic.

well, after reading all the replies on here, its very disheartening to read what other TA's feel about those who do post, allbeit, promo threads.

I do agree that the rules must be enforced or restated, but to persecute the promoters who are actually out there pushing the non-existent scene in their areas, just plain sucks. I know meeko on a personal level, has all the intentions of making the scene better than it is. I was the one who introduced him to the forum about 6 years ago..and this was the place for us to be current with what we love, EDM, and those who also are into it.

Its funny how now since that event thread got closed of Meekos you guys are taking time to give your opinion. Looking at your posts you've only posted twice this past year in the FLorida section not including this post & in 08 you have posted in 4 threads all having to do with Events.
So how can you really even begin to touch the subject of "rules must be enforeced or restated" & say the board members are "persecuting promoters who are actually out there pushing the non-existent scene in their areas" if you yourself are not in this section at all. I'm sure Meeko contacted you resulting in you posting in here. Am I Right?

But many TA's are bias towards what/who they like..point blank! This is not to say anyone is a bad person, or better than others. But mostly, noone responds to threads or comments unless they know you. I've even seen mixes go unread or unlisted to because the 'noob' didn't post a tracklisting.

Please demonstrate to me when & where that has happened. I would like to see that if possible.

For the record, there is no money to be made in this scene, unless you are producing tracks that are being signed to labels. The parties we do throw in the Tampa/St. Pete area, are to promote the up and coming dj's/producers who are pushing our same sound. Maybe they too have not made it to ULTRA status, but we feel responsible to exposing them to a wider audience.

You or someone is charging for the event so someone is making money & from the looks of it you play a factor with these parites.... So you are making something off these parties. So where does Meeko play into these parties?

Maybe one day a lurkin' noob will see such a wack local flyer and get excited about dance music in their area. That would be a fine day indeed, when the scene can grow due to music, and less by how big your name is or your daily post count.

I encourage those who can, to make it out to any of our events, as we are always eager to meet others in the scene, hopefully then we can put this nonsense aside and promote what we all love, The Music! Because that really trumps it all, or at least it Should!!

You are missing the point completely. This is about promoters using this forum to promote their parties & solely their parties w/o any interaction with any member. This isn't a forum to be promting your parties. Ths is an EDM Community where a big handful of people are friends not only on the board as members but on a personal level as well. You guys for the most part use this for promotional purposes & not for nothing else. So in reality you guys don't see it that way.

I think manny is missing the point cause he is just a bitch, doing a bitch job, but thats ok, we still love him cause he throws awesome BBQ's and does oil changes for our cars at Jiffy Boob, So there ya have it, people if u wanna promote go ahead no one is stopping you, now lets all get naked and party except for Digital Puke since that lil border jumper is one hairy turd

Now for you.

I admit, I broke your gay little forum rules, I apologize. I only bumped the thread once. I was really just posting additional information about "U-Night 2." As a matter of fact I was planning on posting a link to my event on wanttickets.com, but you guys got crazy and locked the thread.

First of all this thread has been open for over a week & since now that your thread has been closed you have taken the time to read the forum a little bit & you happened to stumble upon this thread or someone mentioned it to u that this thread has to do about promoters abusing the forum. This remark "I broke your gay little forum rules" doesn't realy say much about your character & will not get much sympathy from me regardless of you apologizing at the end of the remark. For the record you did bump it 4 times no actually you were a smart ass & said 'Here's number 5" & BTW No one else but ME "got crazy and locked the thread" as you so eloquently put it. I do have waaaay to much time on my hands as well but I was asked Moderate this section & I find time to do so.

Plain and simple, the reason why I use forums is to promote events and mix sets. Other people come on for other reasons. I am on several forum sites (THM-DJs.com, 8up.com, Nohaters, FunkTheNation, Ravelinks...) and have NEVER had a problem posting my events and/or bumping my own events. I'm sorry, but I have a real career and use my extra time to promote my passion, EDM. I simply do not have time to post on every site.

Funny you should mention 8up.com. That website is mainly for party promoting. That site is great for promoting parties but I did a little research & came across that on 8up you do interact with members & others but here on TA you interacted at 1st or when u were an active member... then you only used this forum for promotional purposes. If thats the case then use the Events thread as I stated before & be done with it. If you claim the reason u "use forums is to promote events and mix sets" then keep your events in there & only there. Like u said "Plain and simple."

I know I've posted several mixes, advertised for radios shows, and obviously have posted events that I am involved in over the last 4 years. Is that really a crime? Treason? Is that a sick joke? Do you even know what treason is?....give me a ing break!

If its been that that you've been on here then you would know that this topic has come up several times throughout the time you've been a memeber. Since you really don't read the board you prob wouldn't noticed the threads about this topic.

Furthermore, I do not organize/promote/DJ parties to make money. I simply do it for the love of the music. It seems that because the flyers I post don't have what you consider worthy artists you call it spam. That's BS! Was the Crazy Larry or Grumptronix shows spam? We are looking into booking Konrad Black and/or Loco Dice in the near future...Will that be spam? Did you read the U-Night 2 flyer? There are several djs signed to record labels (i.e. Hallucination, System Recordings, Abstract Logic Recordings, Knob, etc). The real problem here is that some of you haters don't want to support the underground scene. You would rather support the commercialized artists who get play time on mainstream radio stations. Trust me, I have been around for a while now, have been to many shows over the years and have seen what BPM or DJ Mag consider the top DJs. I much rather listen to lesser known underground artists. For example, I would rather watch Bob Skies throw down over Markus Schulz any day of the week.

It's not because there are no big named dj's. It's a matter of a promoter bumping there own thread 2,3,4 in this case 5 times. That is whats considred SPAM. Again if you've ever read any of the threads about this topic you would understand better. BUT! since you don't you don't undersand what is trying to be said.

Part of rebuilding the scene is to support local artists. If you guys really want to ban or suspend me for posting my events then so be it. If the posts didn't get buried in that really long Florida Events Thread I wouldn't have a reason to post in the main Florida forum. I do it because it is easier to notice there. Here's a possible solution:

Can you create a thread for each area? Posting all of Florida in one area is like trying to shove 10 pounds of into a 5 pound bag. I think if there was a Tampa Bay thread or even a Central Florida thread it would be less cluttered. This way all of you people who live 300 miles away don't even have to look at my spam.

well if a member or a "lurker" reads a little bit they can see that the 1st page has a complete list of the Florida Events in their area. Its not rocket science.

You see what I mean, hes a bitch, but oh well thats just how he is, Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Meeko727fl
Whatever dude, you go ahead and keep spending your time being a forum Nazi. I will continue to put my time into actually organizing parties, making mixes, and supporting the real scene. You would think the moderator would appreciate a well put together event with some great up in coming talent even if I so called "bumped it." It's really not a big deal, it's just a promotion tactic which prevents the event from getting buried. And posting the flyer 2 weeks out is nowhere near enough time to promote any event. I would be a bad promoter if I let the event I am putting much time and effort into to fall be the wayside. If you actually knew me you would understand my dedication to the scene. And like I said, I do interact on other forum sites, I just can't be involved on that level on all of the sites I am signed up to. Plus, I get much more response on other sites. Do you contribute like you do on TA the same way on any other sites? That being said, I do see your point and will try to contribute more to TA. Now let's squash this because it's starting to get real childish.
orTofønChiLd
The only childish person here is you :haha:

Meeko727fl
By the way, I do interact with other TA members. How in the do you think I got my mix played on Echoform's DI.FM minimal techno show this month???

i can vouch for meeko. he is definitely not trying to make money with his events.

anyway, this forum rule is easy to get around. simply pretend to interact with other people on the forum by posting a few generic responses in random threads every now and then.
