I think this is a good idea Del, but Im afraid for you prediction. There is not much else going on in FL to warrant a whole sub-forum. Although, if the board feels that we need to seperate the events for spamming reasons, that's fine with me.
Although, I still want my job as Events mod.. :haha: |

i think its a great idea.
dont worry echoform, having a subforum for events i predict will actually create more traffic because it gives a clear place for promoters to advertise.
theres actually a lot of events going on in florida that you do not see posted here. ive heard from one promoter he doesnt advertise here because exactly for the reason he doesnt like putting his flyer in one mega thread.
to see what i mean check out 8up.com. theres a ton of events posted there, in just the CENTRAL FL region no less.
im excited! this will bring some new spark to the scene, atleast in my area... |

| Sorry to mention your name Echoform, I just wanted to make it clear that I do in fact communicate with other TA members. I think having separate areas for Florida is a great idea too. Hence the fact I mentioned it earlier in this thread. |

there wouldnt be separate areas. we're not talking about having a south florida, central florida, north florida, panhandle, miami, ft lauderdale, wpb, ocala, tallahassee, etc etc individual forums. we're talking about making ONE seperate section where all the event threads (for all of florida) will go in chronological order.
it seems so far that everyone likes the idea although we only have about 5 people voicing an opinion. so if the trend continues and we have overwhelming support we would need to decide on how to do it as theres two ways.
we can either have all the individual event threads no longer be listed in the florida forum frontpage. to see the events you would need to click on the events subsection. best way to understand it is to see the toronto forums because thats how they do it:

we could have the events listed on both the subsection AND the mainpage. check the california forums to see it in action:

Just like Universal Healthcare you DO NOT need to destroy the whole system just to make a few people happy.
Whatever you decide the master Florida Events thread needs to stay just like it is and exactly where it is:

That thread is taken care of, always up-to-date, and makes it simple & easy to find whatever events you may be looking for. If you want to open a separate events, roll-call, promotion, spam, one-hundred-promoter-bumps-per-minute-allowed section then go right ahead. But leave the Florida Events Thread alone. |

totally agree. that thread is perfect. no one is saying we have to delete that thread. but for those who dont know how or simply dont want to to use it we need something else.
personally im in favor of copying the way to toronto forum works. that way we can have our events thread, have our events subforum, and EVERY event can have its own thread regardless of when it is or how many posts it has. it can be bumped with new info or whatever as many times as the op wants because the events will be in chronological order.
imo its the perfect solution which should make everyone happy. every promoter can post everything they want. and the florida forum wont look like total spam. |

I vote Toronto style because the biggest problem with FLTA are the promoters who BUMP their own threads. If it's in the Cali style - then it won't solve anything.
leave the main forum for roll calls/reviews |
