This sounds promising. |
It's Mike Tournier, who left Fluke to form Syntax, while Fugler and Bryant released Puppy (which will be on my list) and then changed their name to 2 Bit Pie. I haven't actually heard it yet. |

I know he's from Fluke, I've already done my research. :D |

Definitely discovery. Some other good ones were mentioned (Chromophobia, As High As The Sky, Ame...), although I'm not sure I'd say they were the best. I'd add,
Geoff White - Nevertheless
Matthew Dear - Leave Luck To Heaven
Rod Modell - Incense & Black Light
Ursula Rucker - Supa Sista
i:Cube - 3
3 Chairs - Three Chairs 3
Moodymann - Silence in The Secret Garden
Cobblestone Jazz - 23 Seconds |

| to OP, problem is it takes time for a cd to really sink in.. like a few listens sometimes, sometimes something sounds ok but then you think about it and come back to it and are blown away, with all these recommends will you have enough time to make real judgement and comparison? |

How did I miss this?
I'd also vote in The Knife - Silent Shout. |

Ever checked out any M83 stuff? Such a wide range of music he makes that you're bound to find something you like. I think he's released 5 albums to date but I can't remember which one is the best.
I'll have a listen again tomorrow if I can find them.
EDIT - Ok, I had a look a the TLs again and I'm quite partial to his 3rd one, Before the Dawn Heals Us. |

You raise a good point: I understand this isn't the perfect way to judge a decade of music, but there are three factors:
1. It's unfortunately how music journalism works anyway - you have about a week of listening time and then you have to set your thoughts in stone and publish the review.
2. I will have more like a month to listen to them, so it's probably four times as long as I usually get, which is decent "sinking in" time if still not ideal.
3. Due to simple financial constrictions I'm only going to be buying about 10 of all the recommendations mentioned, which is why it's your job to really sell them to me. I may pirate a few more, but I definitely won't be listening to all the albums mentioned. |

| I wasn't that into it at first but upon subsequent listenings, Matthew Dear - Asa Breed has really grown on me. |

Their most solid release since 96's The Eyes Of Stanley Pain. |

| Jack, I'm guessing you wouldn't consider Oid (Space Manoeuvres) one of the best albums? |
