You're putting up an awful lot of fight now for the existence of a genre that you earlier in the thread said didn't exist. If you want to say one is a direct antecedent of the other, go right ahead. History doesn't agree with you.

obviously this doesn't sound like a shokk or alphazone track, but that's because early hard trance sounded different. I don't give a what anyone says - this sounds like some bootleg hard trance labeled as progressive trance.
and LMAO @ THE ANTICLIMAX AT 4:36. evolution made some stompers but they also made some ty tracks.

Matt, if anyone has been trolled into this thread, it's you. You're constantly smashing a genre with little thought to the relevance of your criticism. Even if your thesis was proven true, it will never, ever be as important as you seem to think it is. As it stands, the only thing you've done is created an artificial controversy where none would have existed, before.

I'm a 22 year old korean chump and former ban who's been on this site since 2003. don't be mad at me that TA's back in 2003 were saying progressive trance didn't exist. I made this thread solely on their case. it's easy to ridicule them when they existed 8 years ago.

I'm not a system j dickrider whatsoever but tell me why he says epic house is a subgenre of progressive house that bridged the gap between progressive house and progressive trance?

Probably because he's right, but not unconditionally.
Epic house is a pet genre of Jack's, inspired by his love of two mid 90s progressive house albums that are similar in mood, theme and content: BT - Ima and Blue Amazon - The Javelin. I like these albums too.
He has gone forth and through studious research, retconned several other tracks, artists and labels under this umbrella (most of them from Sasha & Digweed mixes), championing the genre through sheer persistence. While I am fairly ambivalent toward his efforts, I won't deny that within this makeshift genre one can find ample influences of both progressive house and progressive trance since all three were wholly owned subsidiaries of British club & rave culture at the time and most certainly influenced each other.
This does not imply, however, that one came from the other as you asserted. Except "epic house" coming from both (but mostly progressive house). All three would be annihilated by the prog and anthem scene within a year anyway.
