i can't describe tracks like "sandra collins - flutterby" in other category that not progressive trance. also, this is a weird discussion with some good points.

Yes Matt, it's a flat out lie. I'm actually listening to all of your mixes and I'm not commenting on them because they're technically perfect and I'm just a cunt. Meanwhile, the moderators are busy sabotating your upload links. OR I really have no time or inclination to listen to a muddy recording of someone clattering a bunch of tracks I mostly already know and have elsewhere in better mixed and recorded sets.

But it's true though, you are a ****. There's enough material from the last 10 years to make that case. It could be this mentality that you're from the UK and the whole EDM scene revolves around your backyard. Your done with my mixes huh? Whoopty doo! Your mixes are no longer relevant in my books as well. Who the hell wants to hear some 5 hour set you did chopped up into smaller files?

wow.

protip - its pretty easy to tell the diff between prog trance & prog house.

trance pumps, house grooves

work from there.

now go yourselves.

Epic house is probably the only genre with the term "epic" in it which upholds the word's meaning to some degree.

From what I've heard, 'epic Viking metal' upholds too.

Epic house is not a ing genre. Please understand this. Even discogs, which has developed some obscure, unnecessary 'genres,' doesn't have 'epic house' as one of them.

On a relevant note, there's also no such thing as 'jazz house.' There's jazzy house, which has instruments/components of jazz. Can we stop trying to coin new genres ffs? Discogs has enough of them.

And SYSTEM-J, I think you might've mentioned The Aloof - Agent O as being progressive house. It's not. I've had this record, and it's progressive trance. Limbo Records, btw, is a mix of progressive house and progressive trance. A friend of mine used to make mixes of artists from Limbo, and similar ones, and they were all progressive trance sets.

They also don't have eurobeat in there, which has been around for a good 20 years.

Oh, but they have a 'gagaku' tag.

What the hell is eurobeat and what the is gagaku?

Popular in Japan since early 90's, made in Italy. A mix of Italo-disco, -dance and pop.

Eurobeat:

Basically, imagine the opening theme of any anime, or the extra-hard level of DDR. Like I said, been around forever, with labels exclusively churning the stuff out. Gander at Delta:

Delta @ Discogs

This is what Lord Discogs has for gagaku:

Gagaku!

Traditional Japanese folk music from the Gagaku region, I guess?

Interesting, never heard this type of stuff before. Reminds me of rave/happy hardcore.
