If gays want to devote themselves to each other (or whatever) and call it marriage, or anything else, then I don't think we even have the right to discuss the legitimacy of it. What happens between them is their business. So long as it doesn't breach basic human rights etc. |
Exactly.
If you have a stick that far up your ass to get in the way of people you don't even know's marriages, then you obviously need better things to do in your spare time.

Btw if I were gay I probably wouldn't want to get married to another dude anyway. Too controversial. . |
I don't get what is so bad about gay and lesbian relationships? Homosexuals can build families too. And to what benefit is it to pressure people into making a choice to get along because that is the "norm" if the norm isn't what they want? Why shouldn't everyone have a choice of what kind of relationship they want to have with whom? |

Pffft. That's what they all say.
"Twice with my grandmother".
That's what they say, Renzo. Every single one of them. |

I'm not sure if I've discussed this with Boris before. Is this a recurring thing? |
Talk to one former eastern block peon and you've spoken to them all, they're basically the hillbilly's of Europe that spend most of their time drunk, unconscious or beating their wife/1st cousin. I mean Ben was about the only one who wasn't a complete inbred arsehole and capable of stringing a paragraph together, not dealing out gross generalisations or anything as is often the trend, just saying y'know ;) |

| Is it gay if you play Just the Tip? Just the tip. Just the tip, to see how it feels. |

Only if you like it. ;) |

Of course I liked it. I was drunk and naive. And in love.

What I mean is the whole "yeah I am married"
"Oh, what's her name? Kids? Etc?"
"Elliot"
"Oh my"
And discussions similar to this thread all the time; it would be too much for me to keep up. |

| Why the need to keep up? You go trough the usual banter, and if the person youre talking too is uncomfortable or offended by your situation you go about your day. No need to entertain the bigots, theyll end up in a minority some day anyway, but the less thie issue is talked about the latter that day will come. |

Bigots are the new faggots.
On an interesting note I found a logical anti-gay argument that I can't invalidate. If too many people become gay and they don't make efforts to reproduce and skews society to make less than 2.11 children per couple, then their culture will decline. That's not good. So we can't have that many gay people, unless of course we force the fags to mate with the Lesbians. I bet that's the grossest porn ever...HOLY I'M GONNA PRODUCE THIS PORN! |

To address your points:
1. I'm more pessimistic now. I didn't realise the statistics were as high as 51%. Surely you would call that 'regularly'?
I never said anything about abolishing marriage, or a traditional family unit. I do think, though, that it might be a little naive of you to think that the other 49% of people are doing a great job of parenting. If you're married with children, does that AUTOMATICALLY make you a good parent? I think not. |
well i didn't say that either, did i? and the numbers were just a random guess. i'm just saying that a family is a mommy and a daddy. children should be raised in the natural environment and then set free to choose their own way in life, even despite all the issues related to the contemporary family.

2. I didn't ask for proof about gay single parents raising children, I asked for your opinion on the matter.
Are you generally homophobic? If you found out that one of your best friends was gay, would you instantly change your opinion of them? I'm not asking in order to put you down, I'm just curious. |
jesus christ, haven't we been over this in the jake benson thread a long time ago? (remember that "/i have succeeded" part? lol). i'm afraid i might not have the correct understanding of "homophobic" so i'll break it down:
- am i against gays in general? a yes/no answer is not applicable. it's the same as asking "are you against apples?";
- am i against same-sex relationships? no;
- am i against same-sex marriages? no;
- am i against same-sex couples adopting kids? yes;
- am i against using the word "family" for same-sex couples? yes;
- am i against our kids being taught that being gay is normal? yes.
- would i change my opinion about gays if i found out that my best friend was gay? no; i'd just have a great excuse to say "lol that's ghey dude"
- would i try it? life in unpredictable :haha:

opinions like these are the general cause of all conflicts on earth. i don't even want to elaborate this further |
