| Behaviour in the womb of the parent can actually be a factor as well. Lest not forget that you are concious inside the womb of the mother. Could triggers of sexual orientation begin at this point? perhaps. I will agree though with boris and jenny here that it upbringing is the main factor if not the only factor. |

If its not genetic (you can have hetero and homo identical twins) then it has to be a nurture effect.

Presumably these identical twins were raised in the same house by the same parents in the same society. |

It has to do more with male and female presence. It's been theorized that children need both a mother and a father figure in order to best develop their own gender identity. I believe that was Erickson. :p
edit: So yeah perhaps if the parents themselves display non-traditional gender roles. |
