Some of us like to think we're not so old fashioned and cretinous as to adhere to gender roles to the point where we will fight to discriminate against minorities.
I'll assume that you're straight... you have heterosexual feelings that are undeniable.. if I were to put it to you that you have to sleep with a member of your own sex, you would find that notion abhorrent for the mere fact that it's not the ideal picture of sexuality for you. That's precisely what it feels like for people who are gay. They are attracted to members of the same sex, and find the wider community's assertions that they have to conform and sleep with members of the opposite sex abhorrent, because their sexuality dictates it to them.
I'll bet that somewhere in your sexuality there's a quirk.. be it tiny or huge, I don't know.. but it's deep inside any sexual fantasy that you may have had for some time, and it's that one little thing that drives you wild. Try and ignore it... it's a very difficult thing to do to live against a major driving force in your life, and sexuality is one of the largest driving forces that human beings possess. |

It's one thing to disagree with homosexuality. Quite another to rationalize and/or exert control over those who are homosexual. It implies that homosexuality is a decision within someone's control rather than an act of nature beyond the will. If one believes human sexual orientation is a decision one must be making a conscious decision to be straight or rather to abstain from being gay. Given said abstinence it makes since that someone self-deprived of their otherwise natural sexual preference would project that deprivation onto those who aren't. |
