once upon a time he used to spin this too :)

from vocal trance like this to "unforgivable" ...

Because the bigger you get the bigger you are going to market yourself. Why would Armin make the same old stuff over again? He is running a business and it is working.

Every artist on every category is trying to make money. I mean, if you were them... would you not?

Think about it...

For example:

Look at the old Metallica compared to the new Metallica.

Look at the old Dr. Dre to the new Dr. Dre.

Artists mature over time & change.

I guess people just wish he still had some integrity

He has moved on in my opinion. Unforgivable is an extremely well written, arranged and produced piece of music, weather you call it trance, pop, commercial, its good. And whats good is good and on top of that people buy it, which is a great success for a quite ambitious track.

Yes, I've just called Unforgivable ambitious ... why ? This is pop-euro made for masses : LINK and everyone has to agree, that there is a world of difference between this crap and Armins work.

And if you would think of it like this : he has moved on to a different ( I can't say worse ) sound, to make space for you ? yes you : ) maybe you're bitching, but maybe its in a sense it has freed the space for the new generation of more ... underground ? sound : )

its called seeing the cup half full, not half empty.

Are you sure about that?

It's an impression you get when reading over here, but actually that doesn't mean most hate him over here. The DJ poll doesn't confirm that either.

IMO people nowadays are too much DJ focussed in general.

Gotto love how you love listening to ty music but indirectly try to excuse it. :stongue:

OnT: Why people hate Armin? Because he went from making good tracks to pop-induced crap. Because Armada is mafia, almost taking monopol on "trance" music-scene and as a new producer (I know an Armada signed producer) you have absolutely no chance of getting anywhere if you aren't represented big the big man. Because he's damn shallow with his ing ASOT covers.

If I sometimes like listening to the Teletubbies theme-song that doesn't mean I consider it good music.

And look what he's doing nowadays ... producing the same crap. Guess money, fame and quantity won.

You only think this way because you don't know any better. If you would go back and listen to what trance used to be, you would almost certainly change your mind.

Go read THIS thread and listen to what's posted there.

I would for sure.

Oh well, at least he's honest and admits that he's simply playing what will get him paid, not what he actually likes.
