Basically he is djing to the lowest common denominator, his fans who have horrible taste. And it is his fault they have such awful taste for promoting his bs music so damn much. |

| to each his own I guess...I've seen armin once and didn't really enjoy - I won't be going out of my way to see him again, but I understand how there are people who enjoy it. |

I interpret that as, "I lost my artist integrity."
No doubt a good DJ will play what the crowd wants but if everyone is doing that then what sets you apart from the rest? Every "trance" DJ plays the exact same as Armin.
I thought a part of being a standout DJ is incorporating your own passion and true taste into what the crowd wants, thereby leading or influencing the taste of your crowd and making your sound unique. Full respect for anyone who has that integrity and stays true to themselves once they "make it big". |

Sometimes I wonder if in the end Sasha did this best (considering the various superstar dj's). He never really ventured into pop. Mad respect to sasha even if I don't enjoy what he plays today. |

See, I like Armin now. At least he has the balls to be completely upfront and admit that he dumbs down his sets and intentionally sells out to mass-market himself. |

newer progressive psy trance(liquid soul, sideform, asorted others), older progressive trance (think BT, art of trance, PvD old stuff, sasha ), psy ambient (shpongle, solar fields, aes dana, carbon based lifeforms, asura, etc), some drum n bass (ltj bukem, good looking records), some old hip hop (deltron 3030, del, heiroglyphics, etc) a bit of progressive house as well but not that much.
